The special Thanksgiving Buffet was delicious with delightful flavours and interesting combinations of dishes. As usual, service was wonderful.
Special Thanks giving buffet full of flavours. Used to the excellent lamb and moille and appreciated different not too sweet deserts such as the pumpkin flavored 'Pot de crême'
Went for brunch. Food was delicious. Will definitely go again. Even bought a book of recipes written by the chrg.
A delightful experience from the warm welcome to the last service. The restaurant is modern, elegant and spacious. The tables are spaced out nicely so as to allow for privacy. The Thanksgiving buffet was exceptional in terms of variety, quality and presentation. Undoubtedly the best I have ever had. I highly recommend the Coconut Lagoon.
Always a treat to come here. Food was outstanding- again. So flavorful! Service was excellent. A great dinner enjoyed by everyone.
We celebrated a friend's birthday recently. We had fun and throroughly enjoyed the dining experience, from the greeting to the receipt of the check. We highly recomend!
My wife and I had the Chef's tasting menu with paired wine. The soup and the scallops were very good. We then waited a very long time for the next plate. The salmon served on a chick pea pancake was so so and the tomato sauce didn't really work. The next two dishes of chicken then lamb were slow in coming and both meats were very over cooked. The lamb, very strong flavoured was very dry. They offered us a yogurt sauce to offset the dryness. The wines were mediocre. The meal took 2 1/2 hours , the cost with an 15% tip was $374. and was disappointing as we were celebrating our anniversary.
Coconut Lagoon is probably the best Indian restaurant in Ottawa. It is certainly the gold standard for South Indian cuisine. I have spent much time in India over the years, particularly in Kerala. Coconut Lagoon faithfully offers the best of the region's cuisine, a fact attested to by its many awards and the enthusiasm of its discerning patrons.
We enjoyed the evening's tasting menu. It was wonderful. Attentive service with careful explanation and presentation of each course. Nicely paced. Courses were quite different but all were delicious. The medium spice level suggested was just right. Lovely decor if a bit over air conditioned. We were both rather cold. We will certainly return to try the tasting menu again.
Still looking forward to going back the next time. The service is friendly and helpful. The drinks and cocktail menu are innovative and produce great results. The showcase has to be the food though which i never fails to please. I was back for another visit this time but with new friends from out of town and they were as impressed as I was. An evening well worth the price of admission which is reasonable.

We were cordially greeted upon arrival and showed to great table. The staff was was absolutely wonderful. So very pleasant and informative. The person overseeing the Coconut Lagoon was outstanding, so warm and welcoming. He showed us how the tea is poured, amazing. A real treat. The food, fabulous tastes. Everything we ordered I would order again. Actually I will be ordering it again very soon. The menu is worth going until you have it all. We were informed that they now have a lunch menu that looks so good. Thank you all at the Coconut Lagoon ❤️
Amazing lunch experience Coconut Lagoon is one of my favorites restaurants in Ottawa. I highly recommend it. Lorena
The hostess asked us to vacate the table at 7:20 pm for a booking at 5:30 pm because they had other guests waiting. Their website clearly states that a seating is for 2 hours. So they ruined what was otherwise a great experience.
Good friends joined my spouse and I for a supper . The three of them had experienced CL previously , while it was my first time . Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals . I personally ordered the lobster dish , ( which was delicious :)) , feeling a third piece could have been added , as the 2 pieces included were on the small side . The Executive Chef together with members of his Team ( along with a former Premier of the Yukon ! ) created a most welcoming ambience and Great Service...We will return ! Marc Q. Ottawa
What an amazing place. We did the 7 course experience and loved it. Very attentive to every detail. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our anniversary dinner out here.
