Food was fine. Some dishes were excellent (escargot and lamb), others were fine but unimpressive (salmon and steak tartare). Oysters were possibly the worst I've ever had. Service was pretty poor, and incredibly slow. Our server was nice enough, but he didn't take our drink order until 20 minutes after we arrived, and it took another 15 to receive them. Decor and ambiance were pleasant, but for that price point, service should be exceptional. Nothing was terrible, but I doubt we'll return.
Really good food, went for the brunch the potatoes were basic but the rest amazing, it took tike for the food and the bill to come but really good ambiance and high-end feeling
We dined here on Valentines Day on a fixed menu, and while the restaurant is beautiful, I wouldn't say that there was real value for money. The food was fine, but not worth the hundreds of dollars it cost. I probably wouldn't return.
For our first time at Cocotte it was very disappointing. Not sure if they had an off night or weren't used to the set items on the Valentine's Day menu. We are usually not that picky but almost every dish missed. -French Onion deviled egg was just an ok deviled egg, no French onion flavouring -Beetroot Soup was almost too sour to eat. We saw another table ask for cream or something like that to put in it, so it wasn't only us. -Chorizo in the salad was overcooked to the point some of it was so chewy it was difficult to eat -Braised beef was flat, it tasted like unseasoned beef -Poulet au Pot was amazing and redeemed the meal a little -Service was outstanding, they also helped redeem the experience a little bit. With a price tag of $105/person just for food, the value was just not there. We had never been and were looking forward to it after hearing only good things. Kind of hard to justify going back at this point.
Amazing food, service was kind and surprisingly quick. We have nothing to say other than big Wow with a capital W. Definitely worth the $$$ !!!
Souper la Saint- Valentin. La nourriture était froide et pour un souper à 4 services beaucoup trop dispendieux.
I was so excited to try the Valentines brunch. Unfortunately it took us 2 hours from start to finish for breakfast. We were slow to get seated despite having a reservation as there was a mistake with seating with the folks before us. The waitress came to our table and took our order but then told us she had to wait til a specific time to actually put it in. She then came to our table 3 separate times with other tables orders, asking if it was what we had ordered. Very clear that organization was poor. It took us about 45 minutes to get our small bowls of yogurt and an hour and a half to get our entrees, a croissant and bacon casserole. Not what you would expect for a breakfast service. Overall, the food was fine but the organization/service was extremely poor. We left feeling very disappointed and that it was not at all worth the price we paid.
Wonderful dinner tonight at the bistro! Our first time here and everything was excellent. We started with cocktails and shared beef tartar - the beef was tender and tasty! I had the cassoulet which was fabulous - a light and well-seasoned sauce, the duck was perfect as were the other meats. My husband had the lamb shank which came with roast veggies, silky mashed potatoes and a yummy slightly sweet sauce. Our server paced it all well.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention a few other things... the bistro is located in the boutique Hotel Metcalf, a beautiful spot in an old and beautifully renovated building. You enter off Metcalf St, into the lobby of the hotel. To your right, you enter the bar and then the full restaurant. It is all tastefully decorated, with a wonderful Montreal vibe (I understand the owner is from Montreal). Tres chic! We spent the evening snuggled into a plush velour seafoam coloured U-shaped booth. Very cozy. The music played backdrop to our converstation, never getting in the way but providing a wonderful accompanyment to our evening.
All in all, a wonderful date night for mid-January!

We went to Cocotte Bistro for my birthday. We were 6 in total. I had asked for a nice table and told them it was a special occasion when making the reservation but when we arrived, the table we received was in the back corner next to the kitchen door. The food was just ok. Our table ordered a shrimp meal, lentils meal, salmon meal, the burger and every person found their meal to be just average. The price, however, was very expensive for both food and drink. The service was quite slow despite it not being that terribly busy. We had to ask the server twice to fill up our glasses with water and the wait was long to get both our food and desert. Overall, we were not satisfied and will not go back.

Annabelle was an awesome server. Thanks
From the fabulous cocktails, to the delicious main courses, and the incredible dessert suggestion (do yourself a favour and order the Pecan Pie - Anabelle's most excellent suggestion, you won't be disappointed) - such a wonderful experience. 🥂
