Daldongnae Korean BBQ - Ottawa Somerset

The whole experience was Ok until at the end when the machine came out. The server passed the machine back to me and gave himself a big fat 20% tip automatically. I didn't realize it until I left the place.
Just a heads up for other people. This is the second time this kind of behavior happened to me, one here, one at the other establishment

Interesting experience here. Very pricy. Food quality is good. Marination on the meat is minimal. Service is not good for the price you pay. Giving customers a separate plate to eat from will go a long way.

Had a good time at this Korean BBQ spot—solid 4/5. The meat quality was good overall. Some cuts came marinated and were quite tasty, while others were plain and needed a bit of help from the sauces.

The banchan (side dishes) were decent but nothing really stood out. Service was friendly and fast, and the grill setup worked well.

It didn’t blow me away, but it hit the spot. A reliable option if you're in the mood for BBQ without too many frills.

The unmarinated beef was quite tasty, but the marinated ones (marked with a star) had a rather strange flavor that I personally didn’t enjoy.

The soybean paste stew that came with the meal was extremely salty — and not just a one-off. We asked for a refill, and it was just as salty. You’d need to dilute it with equal parts hot water to make it somewhat palatable.

One of the servers only remembered our last request and ignored the others we mentioned. Fortunately, when we repeated them to another server, he helped us out right away.

The lighting inside the restaurant was very dim, and we had to really focus to read the text on the menu. On the plus side, street parking is free in the evening.

I went with coworkers, and I was too famished to take pictures, but everything from service, food quality, and quantity was amazing. I would definitely take my friends and family to this kBbq! Highly recommended!

Super nice Korean BBQ spot. The meat is very fresh and of high quality. The kimchi pancake and the seafood pancake are yummy. However, this is a slightly pricey restaurant for what it offers. I would give 5/5 if I don't take price into account but factoring in the price, I would give 4.5/5.

Amazing ambience for an evening meal. The vibe was cool and the service was attentive. It's nice to see more Korean restaurants in Ottawa that are also from Toronto/GTA. Makes eating in Ottawa more fun and great for social gatherings. We ordered three types of cuts, which were all tasty and easy to grill. I recommend the beef finger meat, it was so tender and flavourful. Side dishes were plentiful, and although it never came, it looks like you can ask for more corn and cheese.

We had a blast! Great meal, hospitable staff and taste sensations. Happy and happening place.

Parking: Temporary issue caused by city’s senseless and poorly planned road construction. Suggest Uber or give yourself extra 15 min so you don’t lose your table!

The food is delicious however the service is lacking. I know they are trying their best but it is always so busy when I go there and I always have issues with service taking so long. Since they do reservations they should know to be prepared for the service for the night. More staff or better organization is needed :/

My friends and I really enjoyed the bbq here. Excellent quality of meat (especially the beef), and free side disks that you can order unlimited.
The only minus point is that we had to serve by ourselves, and sometimes we did not have a good skill or did not spend attention and the meat can be burned out. It would take total 5 stars if the staff grilled the meat for us and we would not need to help ourselves.

The restaurant offers a wonderful ambiance with beautifully designed interiors featuring a traditional Hanok theme. All the dishes were delicious, and the staff were attentive despite it being a busy, full-house Friday evening. The only downside is the table size, which felt a bit cramped with all the dishes, especially the side dishes, which took up the most space. Since they are refillable, serving them in smaller bowls or using divided bowls for two side dishes could help save space. Overall, it's a fantastic spot to enjoy a meal with friends, family, or a group.
