A thick layer of dust covers everything, fruit fly apocalypse at the bar rail. Speakers were visible, but no music playing. Shares bathroom with neighboring restaurant and bowling alley. Were not offered menus. Ignored by bar tender doing inventory. 4 patrons in the place at the time of visit.

I was lucky enough to visit on a sunny day when Lily was working as a server. She was incredibly funny and helpful. The food here is fantastic (and you can eat it at the Diner too). Definitely a great spot to visit in Hintonburg

I had high hopes for this pub, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. I ordered the fish and chips, and it was by far one of the worst I’ve ever had.
The fish was bland, greasy, and lacked any seasoning, while the chips were soggy and lifeless.
To make matters worse, the portion size was laughable—with only one tiny piece of fish barely enough to feed a child—yet they charged an outrageously high price for it. I left feeling hungry and ripped off.
That being said, I must give credit to the staff. They were friendly and polite, and it’s clear they’re doing their best.
Unfortunately, no amount of great service can make up for subpar food and ridiculous pricing.
I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying meal.
Parking: It enough place for a group of 8-10 people. The shared washrooms were dirty and no soap.

live music on a Thursday night was great! The bartender, I think she was called lily, was super kind and was great company for me. All the folks were cheerful. Surprisingly such an uplifting vibe.

Our server Lily was amazing, she took care of our every need and was so kind. The live Irish music made the vibe super fun and unique. Would definitely recommend this spot and ordering a drink from Lily!

Father’s Day… we wheeled my father into The Royal Oak for fish and chips and a beer. After 20 minutes of non-service (the waitress didn’t even take a drink order) we got up and left. We then went to your establishment. The waitress was attentive and cheerful, she took our order right away and 20 minutes later, we had our meals. The fish was superb… and cheaper than next door. Lesson learned - we will be back!
Waited 40 minutes for our food at lunch time, never ended up eating, the food never showed up. There was nobody else in the place. Paid for our drinks with cash and left.

Had an incredibly wonderful evening at O'Connell's tonight!I manage a large snow removal company and came to this establishment to hunker down and direct various teams as they finished a storm.The bartender on staff, Amber, was incredibly welcoming. The patrons were mostly industry, and all were clearly having an amazing time.Until now I've spent most of my recreational time in the East end of the city, but Amber's stellar service and the ambience of O'Connell's may have enticed me to make the extra drive out this direction more often.Thank you, Amber!!!
