The food was OK but not spectacular. We were seated at a table that was in a very high traffic area. It was awkward and in our opinion not ideal at all. If you go make a reservation (which we did) and request a table away from others passing by.
Far too noisy to enjoy a dinner before the theatre. Wont try again although food snd service were great.
Stew had very little meat and the server acknowledged that but did nothing about it. My meal was meant to have 2 brathursts but came with only 1 without reduction in price. For Every tables in our section, the food was served and there were no cutlery, us included
The staff were very accommodating & added an extra table when they noticed there wasnt enough room. It made for a great experience to watch the Jays game.
A very busy location. Reservation is a good idea. Extremely loud and close quarters, not the place for a romantic dinner, but a great place for a group or very casual evening. Did not experience the live music, but it has a good reputation for it.
This is the second time in a month that we have eaten at D'Arcy McGee's on a Friday evening. This occasion was not as good as the previous time. I made a reservation for four people. We were brought to our tables immediately and courteously. Instead of a proper table for four, we were assigned two small round one-person tables side-by-side. This made for a crowded and precarious dining experience. There were other groups of four that were properly seated at a table for four. We were not properly seated. If you cannot seat four people properly in your restaurant, stop taking reservations for four. The noise level was impossibly high. This made conversation among the four of us very difficult. Our meals were served quickly and the food was fine. After our meal was done and cleared away, a plate for a different table was delivered to us by mistake. This is a direct consequence of the new fashion of having your order taken by one person, and delivered by a completely different person. This fashionable curse has spread right across the restaurant industry. I dislike it intensely. Who is taking responsibility for my meal? Who am I tipping? The correct answer to both questions may be "no one." I think I'll look for other options. D'Arcy McGee's is perfectly located if you're heading to the National Arts Centre. There must be good second choices nearby.
Everything was great except that it was too noisy. We couldn't have a conversation . Partly, but only partly, due to woman at neighboring table with loud voice. She left but then themusic started!
Wonderful food, great staff, warm ambiance, had a great time! Quiet enough to have a conversation and relaxed pace, perfect pub experience.
The food and ambiance was fine. My less than 5 star rating was because the waiting staff constantly badgered us for a refill of our drinks even when our glasses were half full. It gave me the impression the emphasis is on forcing revenue over customer satisfaction.
The food was decent however our service was less than enjoyable. Our server lacked any enthusiasm and the other young man that assisted her gave me attitude when I asked for a refill of my water glass it was as if I was annoying him and he couldn't get away fast enough

I have hearing aids. They found a quiet corner for me with a view on the game. Food was delicious and the service was great.
Great central location with a lovely patio close to downtown sites of Ottawa. The food is overpriced, though, and they're better pubs in the city. The service was very good. The temperature in the restaurant was extremely cold, with excessive temperature way below what it ought to have been.
The three hostesses all focussed on one party at a time, spending too much time interacting with people who did not have reservations. We had reservations, and could not speak with any of the three hostesses to be seated until all three of the finished with the others. A little training is in order. Our service inside was fine: fairly quick and fairly accurate. When we ordered, we asked for white vinegar for our chips. We had to ask for ni it twice more. Three of the four of us were very happy with our meals. The fourth was not: he ordered a steak pie. There was very little filling and far too much pastry, which I could see was underbaked. You dis well, but not very well.
Our fav restaurant when we come to Ottawa for the Army Run each September! Great food selection and excellent servers!
A pub right on the corner of the street with kerbside patio seating, it is a good place to visit for a meal and a drink. We had their fish and chips, a beer and a couple of cocktails.
Pricing is a bit on the higher side since it is in the heart of the tourist area. However, the friendly service and more than makes up for it. Worth at least one visit.
