It's very busy on a Friday night, so without a reservation, you will probably be eating at either the food or drinks bar. The food bar means you can watch them make your food and have the food given right to you, which I loved. The food was good. One thing would be that the baos we had both had very fatty pork, which was not particularly enjoyable for us, but I think that might have just been us.

Datsun has some of the best food in Ottawa. Every time it is amazing. The bao, cauliflower, dumplings, carpaccio, and cocktails are amazing. The vibe is perfect and always where I bring guests who are visiting Ottawa!

Amazing food, chicken bao is an absolute must try, amazing flavors. For the traditional pork bao tho, Kung Fu Bao makes a better one in Ottawa.

Whatever you order, don’t order chicken wings. I love fish sauce, but boy, they put way too much in their chicken wings and it overpowered everything. If you hate fish sauce…you would lose appetite

My favourite place for bao ❤️

My partner and I ordered a meal from Uber eats and were shocked by the inconsistency and tiny portion sizes. Both Dandan meals filled about 1/3 of the takeout containers and one of the meals had practically no meat. For $24 a serving I would avoid ordering from here if you want any form of filling meal.
From what I can remember, the food tasted great, lots of flavour and very fresh. Packed environment though, was seated at the bar area but I wasn't complaining. I had 3 baos and wasn't really full but didn't want to spend more because they are kind of pricey in my opinion, no problem though. Server was nice and friendly so that was a plus on top of the great food!

Food is delicious, a lot of veggie and meat options, I like the smaller plates so I don’t have to commit to one big dish - the variety and option to share is nice. The chicken bao and pork and chive dumplings were the standout for us - as was the service! Some items were a bit too expensive (like the cucumber salad - while delicious, not sure about the price point) Good vibes overall!

Always a solid and reliable choice. I’ve been going here since they opened and they’re always very good and keep the menu fresh whilst retaining key favourites.

Came in with a large group a couple of weeks ago and had a great time! The cocktails and food were fairly priced and tasted amazing!! We loved the atmosphere of the place and the service was good. Definitely recommend trying the Chicken Bao!

Fun food, good (but loud) music, great decoration, nice staff!
Vegetarian options: I ordered a tofu bao and squash dumplings. Both were delicious!

Been wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint! All the food was very delicious and the service was fast. It is a bit pricey so be prepared for that. I was thinking you would get a larger portion of the dandan noodles for the price tag so was a little dissatisfied with that but overall was a great place to eat.

Overrated and overpriced.
Food is bland, mostly sweet and very bad tasting.
Wouldn't recommend, there are a plenty of other great Asian places in the city.
