Always a great time at Deacon's. I have been going every week for a long time for an event, and it's always great. Dany, Danielle and the entire staff are great! They have great daily specials on food and drink, and the whole staff takes great care of us.

We visited this pub on Saturday night around 8.30 pm, and it was far from busy—only a few tables were occupied, with many others clearly available. Despite this, the waitress was rude and told us to wait, saying she was busy, and would not allow us to seat ourselves. The interaction felt unnecessary and unwelcoming, especially given how empty the place was. Unfortunately, the service left a very poor first impression. We ended up going to Manor Lounge nearby instead, where the atmosphere was welcoming and the waitresses were friendly and attentive. The contrast in service was striking.

Fantastic downtown pub. Staff are extremely accommodating and kind. Menu, especially drinks, are very affordable. It is one of if not the best places to patron downtown, and trust me I’ve been everywhere.
Music Friday and Saturday nights, and they have both a FUBO and DAZN accounts for live sports.
If you’re considering this place, I would strongly suggest you make the trip.

I was in Ottawa for a conference in June, and this place was recommended by hotel staff. Great haddock and chips, and even better service. It’s a great spot if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the ByWard Market.
