Delicious hidden gem! Fresh and delicious sandwiches. Stopped in for a quick bite and was not disappointed. These sandwiches come fully loaded, are excellent value, and are not short on flavour.

Love everything about this place. The sandwiches are super delicious, the atmosphere is so community-minded and the staff are awesome. Owners Leiland and James are such lovely, personable people. Would absolutely recommend District Deli to anyone looking for Ottawa's best sammy!

While at work I ended up working outside the deli, and as I worked watched people go in and out. When I went in to see what it was all about I was greeted by 3 guys. They were very helpful and more than happy to offer suggestions. I was told I missed the lunch rush by being there early. Asked for their recommendation and they made a McCormick I believe it was called. Great sandwich. Nice heat, all and all, I’d definitely eat there again

The Wellington at District Deli is the kind of sandwich that makes you text your friends mid-bite, then immediately regret telling them because now you’ll be stuck in line behind them forever. Three meats (mortadella, hot genoa, and prosciutto) stack up like a diplomatic summit, while fresh mozzarella smooths the negotiations. Then—bang—roasted red pepper and pickled red onion crash the meeting with just enough zing, and a basil-kissed mayo plus a whisper of vinaigrette tie it all together like a tailored suit.

The bread holds firm without jaw-workout taxes, the portions are generous without being chaotic, and every bite lands balanced—salty, creamy, bright, and a little peppery. If Wellington Street had a coat of arms, this would be on it. Ottawa: we have a new ā€œI’ll meet you thereā€ sandwich. District Deli, you’ve created a habit.

Our favourite sandwich place in the city by far! We’ve had several from the menu and they all hit. The staff provides great service, and make you feel right at home. Highly recommended.

It's a local deli sandwich/sub place. Highly recommend it for the food... But it came up for Montreal Smoked Meat (which they have... And is good) and I was looking for a hot Montreal smoked meat sandwich on rye. So I was disappointed from that perspective... Which is not to take anything away from the restaurant. It will be on the top of my list for a sub.

Unfortunately losing mass customers with not using halal meat for protein options. Truly sad.
