The eggplant taco is so good, kind of tastes like takoyaki and bonito somehow despite being vegetarian. Also got the fish and cochinita pig head tacos, which were also good but just slightly lackluster (I could've used some more seasoning/salt in the fish, and the pig head was very meat dense but not much else). A bit pricey too.

Had a really disappointing experience here tonight! Started with an order of chips and salsa… guac arrived instead, we didn’t bother to correct as it was still pretty good! However, the beef barbacoa tacos were a different story, we’ve been here many times and always enjoy them but the recipe tasted way off and it was honestly uncomfortably spicy. While dining we watched the bartender (our server) and other staff take shots behind the bar & saw a kitchen staff dip herself a chip in the giant tub of salsa and eat it. Asked for the bill and the server of course forgot (as he was busy taking shots). Left really disappointed and will most likely not be returning.

The best guacamole and tacos in Ottawa! I had the ribeye, beef, and ox tongue. All were delicious. The guacamole was so tasty. Am coming back here.

My #1 best taco place in Ottawa.
Ingredients are very fresh.
Pork belly taco and beef taco were our favorite.
Crispy fish taco tasted a bit bland for me and it comes with jalapeno so it's a bit spicy.

I came here for drinks while visiting my family in Ottawa and I ordered the piña colada and my cousin got the paloma. both drinks came very well presented in tall cups and not too much ice! they were tasty.
but the star of the night were the chips & salsa. the in-house made salsa was so delicious. it had the nicest sweet taste with a solid kick of spice all blended so perfectly together. the portion was huge, but we cleaned the bowl!! I would go back for this salsa, they need to sell these by the jar!

The food is good, but it is a bit overpriced for what it is.
The low rating was for the terrible service.
We waited for about 15-20 minutes to be seen at the front door for a table, then another 10-15 minutes to have a server take our order, and although the tacos didn’t take too long to arrive, our drink arrived when we were about to give up and leave.

The best tacos in the city in my opinion. I always take it to go cuz I find the environment very loud and noisy but that's just me. But the tacos are well worth it.

This is a go to spot on Elgin St to get amazing tacos.
It gets busy and fils up quickly so get here early or you will be waiting a while. There is a take out window that is open pretty late.
Lots of taco options and some great vegetarian one. Get here asap.

Barbacoa and Cochinita were great. I like they serve a tasty small consomé with the taco. Pricey compared to Toronto almost double the price. Avoid the steak taco!! Huge miss there. I’ve been eating in Mexican restaurants almost once a months in many different cities including in Toronto I lived or in Mexico City that I go often, that is not what a steak taco should be at all. I was given fondue steak in my taco 😆

It was highly recommended. I ordered tacos. It came and it was a single taco. I was choked. Overpriced …left feeling completely unsatisfied. Misleading menu. That is what I thought it was…. Will never go back even if you paid me .

So I figured I would visit here in a effort to better gauge some of the reviews that are all over the place about this restaurant.
I had the Pig head and fish tacos. First of all, for anyone saying or reading that that the tacos are bland or underwhelming that's crazy talk. The tacos are even dressed with cilantro and pickled onions. If you cant taste cilantro and onions go get your mouth hole examined, its not functioning properly. Both of these tacos were great but especially the pigs head taco, it was phenomenal. I would have like to try the Ox tongue as well, buy it wasn't available. I certainly will return. If you had any apprehension about this spot don't. I'm a fat man I know what tastes good. I would not lie to you 🫡 And sure the tacos may not exactly the cheapest things out there but don't blame them, blame Trudeau, he ruined your taco budget not El camino.
