ESD is our favourite diner in Ottawa! Best breakfast served in the city - and great milkshakes!

It’s got a old school vibe to the place but the people who work there are top tier. Customer service was outstanding

This place is open 24/7 ! They gave a lot of food for the price and it was good food so I appreciated that. I’ve never seen a sandwich with a bun layer in the middle, interesting still yummy.

Classic diner with great food, friendly staff, and eye catching chalk artwork.

Brought American friend tonight for dinner.. Staff and food very good. Big portions.

Negative: Freezing bring a sweater or coat
Place run down needs improvements for all the $ they are making after 30 years.

Large group of noisy teenagers behind us made dining not very good. Too loud!!

I was too surprised by the quality of the dish, too expensive for nothing! With burnt fries that I have never tasted like before. Very very bad restaurant. To flee!

I believe my servers name was Becca, and she was absolutely wonderful, I was in ottawa overnight, couldn't get a hotel room, so I spent a few hours here,

I got the poutine with the ESD add on, (fried onions and bacon), the vegtable soup and a mocha milkshake.

Food was wonderful, and will gladly stop in on my way back through ottawa in june

Every thing was great. Thank you for everything

Amazing milkshakes, huge portions. Delicious food. The side of baby carrots was a little plain, and it got a little loud when the place filled up. It's not the cheapest meal, but the portion size makes it worthwhile. Amazing desert.

Had a great breakfast here! The food was simple but really tasty, and the service was friendly and fast. Would definitely come back.

Our favorite Ottawa spot! Elgin Street Diner never disappoints - delicious food, big portions, and friendly staff. Always busy, but worth it

The bacon & fried onions poutine was absolutely delicious, and the moccanino shake too. The service should probably be 4.5 stars because our waiter got a couple things wrong but he also got most things right and fixed the 2 issues quickly and friendly, so 4 would be kind of unfair. Nice vibe too so the experience gets full marks from me.

This is the type of diner that every neighbourhood needs. The menu lists variations of all your favorite breakfast items and more. Sharp-witted servers execute the routine flawlessly. Cozy decor reminds you that they never close and the wide selection of milkshakes. My Farmers Benedict arrived on time and came topped with velvety bechamel sauce. My cherry shake came in a frosty tin cup. Wish I could eat here every day.
