Great little diner in the not-so-touristy area of Ottawa. We were in Ottawa for a wedding that weekend and wanted some breakfast before the ceremony. We were recommended this place by the bride for its casual and old-timey feel.We tried to order on SkipTheDishes but their system was down. We called to make sure they were open and then walked down there to get some takeout. When we arrived, we learned that their entire computer system was down. They had to do everything by hand, and were only accepting cash. Yet the place was still packed and the staff were still smiling. The food was delicious, and didn't take much longer than normal. Not only that, they were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions with ease.

Possibly the worst food I’ve ever had! Cardboard is more edible than this. The chipotle chicken wrap was awful, chicken was tougher than concrete. Crispy chicken poutine was served with black tar and the chicken was harder than prime Mike Tyson. Food was so tough I left with a chiseled jaw line after trying to eat it. Food wasn’t even warm. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy. Food is a cruel punishment.

Very crowded and somewhat on the expensive side. But the food is reappy really good. You can tell people care and i find the price is justified for this quality.

A beautiful restaurant with this "American" atmosphere but disappointed with the prices (more or less 20 dollars for a plate without taxes) and the dishes are good but nothing more. Nice experience.

Honestly one of the worst Poutines I’ve had,.the cheese wasn’t melted and if they are famous for that, then I’m shocked…. The chili cheese dog was meh, it was very had to eat and fell apart immediately but still Was an ok Dog. Onion Rings were amazing tho

There’s other place like Elgin Street Diner, if you’re looking for a diner style place, this is the place to be: firstly, the food is nice and hearty, and great on the wallet. Secondly, the atmosphere is always nice, and the service is exceptional (heck the owner was an amazing guy to talk to) even at 3 AM in the morning. Overall, would highly recommend.

Too expensive and they got the order wrong last time. I think my waiter longed for the release of sweet death.

The price has gone up way too much for what they're serving. A mediocre cheeseburger and fries shouldn't cost $19.99.I get inflation is a thing but I can't justify coming here anymore for what it costs. I'd rather go somewhere where my overpriced burger leaves me not feeling disappointed at the end.
