Love the vibe and atmosphere of Elise and the food is superb, but as a vegetarian it would be nice to see more dinner options. I'm always excited when a new menu is released in the hopes of an option besides risotto, but the past few have only been a different variation.

Thought this would be a good spot considering all the high reviews đ§ but itâs overpriced for what they offer. If you charge THAT much for something at least hire enough staff to give good service. In terms of food quality, the steak was low for being $43. Any other option in Westboro or Hintonburg at this price point or even lower is a better option than this place.

Went to Elise a couple of weeks ago. Good and attentive service, nice decor. I had the steak frites and greens to start. The salad was delicious. well seasoned with a good punch of acidity from the grapefruit and the vinaigrette, it was nicely balanced with some candied nuts. The fries unfortunately werenât crispy enough and lacked salt. The sauce Bernaise was lacking acid and seasoning as well, it just didnât have enough punch. My steak however was perfectly cooked and had great flavour though!

They really need some sound treatment. House made condiments (ketchup and hot sauce) are a nice touch. Tartare was unique, some other menu items were hit and miss, e.g. shrimp roll was a bit disappointing and the mussels seemed a bit off somehow.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a gem of a restaurant in Ottawa called Elise, and it was nothing short of delightful. This place serves up gourmet French cuisine thatâs beautifully elevated and incredibly fresh. Every dish we tried was a feast for both the taste buds and the eyesâthe presentation was just fantastic.
The only slight downside is that the restaurant is currently in a bit of a construction zone, so having lunch outside during the day isnât really an option right now. But honestly, that shouldnât deter anyone. Elise is truly one of Ottawaâs best-kept secrets at the moment, and Iâm so happy to have discovered it. Iâd recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience.

Hard to relax when they charge $6 for a side of olive oil and balsamic for their bread, an already $7 line item. Great service, just a lack of consistency with food, having been there three times the first and second time was the best. Just not used to meticulous charges of any condiment side you will ask for, especially comparing to amazing restaurants in the area that are very comparable in price point.

Very tasty food, the tartare is probably one of the best Iâve had in Ottawa, the crispy mushrooms are great, and the duck is solid!
The food was quite good when I had lunch there. However, when a made a reservation for a second lunch I was bombarded with texts and emails indicating that if I lingered over coffee after two hours I could be asked to leave. In addition I was told that a reservation on the terrace wouldnât guarantee a seat inside if it rained. This is the reverse of most restaurants that leave spots on the terrace to first come first served whereas inside is always guaranteed. When I called to enquire about how these policies work I was basically, and somewhat rudely, told those were the policies, take it or leave it. This for a Tuesday afternoon reservation? I cancelled my reservation and donât plan on reserving again.

. Itâs a really cute place. The food is just OK. I didnât like the burger and my dinner partner did not like how the steak was done nor the fatty cut of meat given. I will say the steak looked different from the first time we came since the first time it was more charred.

ELISE From the first moment I walked in the atmosphere of the establishment was extremely welcoming. Having a seat at the bar provideds you with a great view inside the kitchen. For the appetizer I ordered the SALADE MAISON. And was absolutely blown away, it looks absolutely amazing and taste even better, they perfectly match every component to go with each other and the house made seasonal vinaigrette blown me away.
To finish it off I had the seasonal flavour sorbet which was absolutely amazing and a great way to close off the meal.
I am definitely going here again

For the main I got the PLAT DU JOUR
A haddock dish with grilled artichoke heart, an amazing béchamel and charcoal sauce with brown butter and roasted nuts. The first tastes absolutely blown me away completely. Every bite was absolut heaven in my mouth.
To finish it off I had the seasonal flavour sorbet which was absolutely amazing and a great way to close off the meal.
I am definitely going here again
