Cash grab. Weak beer, overpriced, under dressed nachos. Clearly someone thought “evergreen didn’t work because we had a garbage product, so let’s rebrand and pump out the same below par crap for a year or two”.
Avoid this place.

Rebranding of a below average Evergreen brewery doesn’t make the beer any better. Weak beer lineup paired with mediocre food. Countless better options in Ottawa for brewery’s making outstanding beer and serving excellent food, try them instead.

Stopped in at Pistols on game day and left underwhelmed. The nachos were way overpriced — mostly chips with barely any cheese — and the beer was just okay. The place was clearly understaffed even with a game happening only 200 meters away. That said, the servers were very nice and did their best to take care of our group, but overall the experience just didn’t feel worth the price.

The beer and spirits were great. Our server Jessie made sure we had a fantastic time. She made solid recommendations, prepared food, and did it all solo. Impressive. Cheers

Great, friendly service! The beer was good, the food was good, and the service was really good tonight. We will be back next time I’m in Kanata.

What an incredible dining experience! The food was beyond delicious, and the kind staff went above and beyond to help me choose the best items on the menu. The atmosphere was so calm and peaceful, with no feeling of being rushed and not a single bothersome food smell. It was a fantastic visit that truly made my day from start to finish…

Great atmosphere and music! Smaller inside dinning area however they make up for it with a large patio out back. Food was great!

The best brewery in Ottawa hands down! Love the rebrand. The new interior design is stunning with a gorgeous bar, exterior patio and cocktail lounge. Great quality and variety of beers- the nitro stout being my favorite. Exceptional service with a friendly and inviting atmosphere and vibe. Highly recommend to anyone seeking unique & crushable unfiltered beers.

Had been a big fan of evergreen, felt the beer was top 3 in the city, that's including braumeister of Carleton place and brauwerk Hoffman of Rockland - these two easily take the cake for an authentic beer experience, not stuck in the loop of citrus hops and faking flavour with blind juicy hop obsession.

I sampled Big Hoss at the Chesire Cat, and unfortunately it doesn't even scratch the mark. The nose is oily citrus, almost infused, the palate is lacking in flavour and finished with a hop with no characteristics other than dry citrus bitter.

The mouth feels is arguably the worst aspect, has less volume than a cream ale yet less carbonation at the same time? Maybe the bartender didn't know how to pour the beer, however, every other beer poored is consistent with standards.

I had high hopes for this rebranding but so far it as weak as the imagery and naming they have chosen.

2 Pistols down!

Great beers, slow service. If you’re not pressed for time, it’s certainly worth checking out.
