⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ FIVE STARS We recently visited Fatboys Southern Smokehouse in Ottawa to celebrate two birthdays as a group, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was fun and energetic, and the food was outstanding — rich, smoky flavors, tender meats, and generous portions that left everyone talking. What truly made the night memorable was the exceptional customer service. Our server, Mauro, was phenomenal. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure our entire group felt welcomed and taken care of. His timing, recommendations, and personality were spot-on. Mauro absolutely deserves praise! We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Shawn, who was just as amazing. His warm hospitality and genuine passion for what he does really shone through. It’s rare nowadays to see an owner so involved and dedicated to their guests’ experience. In a time where great service can feel hard to find, Fatboys Southern Smokehouse stands out in the best way possible. Amazing food, incredible staff, and a team that truly cares. Great food but be very cautious about the service tip scam. We added our usual % to the bill with the machine provided and then looked at the printed receipt. We then called the waiter over and apologized that our tip was not included and subsequently gave cash, which he took before we left the table. We checked our bank transaction which showed we had paid our initial tip. This is blatant scam to double tips for their wait staff and totally spoiled what was otherwise a very good experience. I would never expect this in a restaurant in our nations capital.

Amazing food and amazing staff! The owner was so friendly and kind. We were visiting Ottawa for the first time, and it was such a lovely way to end our trip by dining here.
Top shelf everything here....customer service starts it off.....seated right away, asked for a coke and was brought a coke AND a jug on the side with ice and more coke, nice touch.....the fries were seasoned just right, top 10 stuff....both of us had the smoked wings also....excellent....cool atmosphere.... Went here for dinner, was quite chilly out. When we were sat down inside they had the big doors open and we were cold, food came out quick but was warm not for long, got the big plate of everything, fried chicken was the only thing hot other than that food got cold fast, beer was good, would come back, just would prefer the environment more comfortable

The Owner Shawn was absolutely amazing. He literally gave us a private tour of his restaurant.
They have a price room for party or sports events which can host up to 60 people; but 40 people if you want to have buffet.
The restaurant vibe is amazing.
I tried their beef briskets that come with one side dish and corn bread. The beef brisket was perfect, fatty and juicy; so tender that you don’t need to use knives. The pickle potatoes salad was average.
If you are meeting lover you can come a visit; and don’t forget to look for Shawn; he will share some amazing experience in life that will definitely amaze you.
