We shared the halibut, Thai fish cakes and lobster small plate. It all tasted wonderful and the service was great . We'll return.
Really fantastic place - great, great food, super interesting wide array of wines, beautiful spot, and warm, knowledgeable service. The one challenge is when the dining room is full we (not hard of hearing) have a difficult time speaking and hearing each other. We would come even more often if sound absorption was strategically added. Everything else is perfect.
Menu looked inspiring but was flat and without much flavor. Burgogne white Vire Clesse was a big disappointment but my mistake.
Excellent food and good atmosphere for dinner with friends and colleagues.
Cole and the other bartender were amazing! Cole picked my drinks for me and they were some of the tastiest drinks I've ever had. The food was super delicious. I had the lamb and asparagus soup along with the maple pound cake. Thanks for the wonderful experience during my first trip to Ottawa.
The menu is small, but everything I had was excellent. So check the online menu first and make sure something tickles your fancy but then by all means get there.
The best food I have had in a long time. I highly recommend Fauna and will go back for more delicious food..
Amazing flavors, original recipes, great presentation. Overall we had a very memorable meal.
The place has a nice vibe and the cocktails were great, but overall it wasn’t worth the price. The scallop crudo was fresh but came with a spicy sauce that totally overpowered the scallops. We ordered the ribeye for two—lots of chewy bits and didn’t taste dry-aged. Service was super slow too. Not terrible, but definitely expected more for what we paid.
An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. This high-end restaurant truly delivers on quality and elegance. I started with the lobster bisque, which was rich, velvety, and bursting with deep, savory flavor—easily one of the best I’ve ever had.
The highlight, though, was the steak. Cooked to absolute perfection, it was tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. You could taste the quality in every bite, and the presentation was just as impressive as the flavor.
The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance made the evening feel special. Ideal for a celebration or a fine night out. I’ll definitely be returning.

I was looking forward to this restaurant for my dad’s birthday. However, its reputation on all of the best of Ottawa lists didn’t match the experience.
While the food was arguably tasty (though not memorable), the portions were much too small given the price.
One of the menu items we requested (the fried sunchokes) was unavailable, which was disappointing given the already small menu.
Our service was also slow, with our drink orders (and consequentially our food orders) only being taken fifteen minutes after the initial menu drop.
One of the cocktails listed on the menu was also unavailable.
My belief is that on a typical Saturday night, there should not be essential menu items unavailable.
Really good food. Crudo dishes (scallop and veal tartare) were fresh and dressed well. Ribeye for two was loaded with vegetables and potato mash on the side, all cooked to perfection, and the flavors never got old. Squash pasta came with bucatini and was alright but didn't stand out. Curated drink menu with signature cocktails and variety of wine, including skin contact - the orange was delicious. Service was attentive, helpful and never overbearing. Trendy decor with custom light fixtures and artworks; chill tracks playing at low volume. There was a great buzz in there, would definitely return.
Dining at Fauna was the best choice we made in Ottawa; the food was inventive yet unpretentious, the room comfortable and welcoming The service we received at Fauna was natural yet attentive; not too little, not too much. The menu was a hard-to-choose from carefully selected fresh, quality & thoughtful ingredients, crafted into wonderfully prepared dishes. The accompanying, extensive wine list, offered something for everyone and more importantly, the knowledgeable staff could easily assist with recommendations. All of this made for a perfect evening for these two out of town foodies!
The service was very very good! The food was exceptional! and the wine list was sublime. We had a great dinning experience! Thank you.
The most money I've ever spent on a dinner but I think it was worth it. The price of everything has increased but I feel like the taste of food hasn't improved or kept up with prices specially in Ottawa. This wasn't the case at Fauna. All the dishes tasted amazing and the desserts were definitely worth the calories!
