Got forced into eating at this restaurant selected by friends. Checked out the menu before and the website and menu didn’t exactly excite me. Well the atmosphere is eclectic to say the least. The fact that it wasn’t busy on a Friday night was an inclination. The wine and bar selection was good. Service was mediocre given the pricing of the food. The food came, portions were small. I ordered the sable fish which I believe was really Talia. It was over cooked and the vegetables were very al dente. The only thing that was good was the croquette. My wife had the jumbo shrimp in a Thai curry. Shrimp were over cooked, broth was flavour but they gave a very small portion of undercooked rice. It was over priced for the quality of food we received. First and last visit.

Price decent for the flavour and taste, portion sizes left a little to be desired

Love this tucked away gem in Glebe! Super cozy vibe, perfect for a date. Funky warm decor, warm ambiance and exposed brick and all great mood lighting with the candles. Food was amazing - cod was so fresh and the chowder was ridiculously good. Definitely recommend!

Tried Flipper’s for the first time last night. It was a cool little out of the way joint. Intimate, cozy, and comfortable. It only had a few tables on a Sunday night with a few regulars up at the bar. I’m assuming it was the owner/ manager serving us. She was able to easily serve the entire restaurant on this quiet evening. I had the Seafood Linguine. It had a very plentiful serving of seafood with the pasta and the sauce had a nice flavour but was way, way over salted. My friend and I shared an order of crab cakes which were quite good. For her main course my friend had the pan fried Sea Scallops which were a good size and cooked nicely. However the side that came with her meal was a mashed squash which was ice cold. Neither of us are the type to complain and the food was edible so we just ate our meals. I’m not posting my complaints to hurt business as we plan to return and try other dishes. We liked the ambience and judging by other reviews want to give Flipper’s another go. We did however find it odd that bread was not brought out at any time and I don’t remember seeing it on the menu.

Karin needs to retire and sell what could be a gold mine.
She is beyond ornery and horrible to her staff.
Food is acceptable at best, so any new owner could make it great, with proper management, and definitely better customer service.

I haven't had such a delicious meal in years! We had the lobster ravioli, seafood platter, escargot and shrimp with blue cheese. The food was to die for, the service was great and the ambiance was enjoyable. We'll definitely be back!

Good seafood. Nice restaurant and pleasant service. Wine choice could be improved but at least not too expensive

I have never seen this place before. I happened to be walking on bank and noticed a sign. Very reasonable pricing and very accommodating staff. Everything was wonderful and tasty.

Based on the previous experiences I had with this restaurant, I thought the food would be good. Unfortunately I went there last night and the experience was just awful. I ordered pan seared salmon with sweet potato fry and vegetables.
The sweet potatoes where almost raw on the inside and soggy on the outside, cold to touch. No dipping sauce. I only had a few and the taste was so bad that I left the rest on plate. The salmon did not look good, and when I took a bite or two of the very gray and overcooked fish, I knew it was not good. Even though I was very hungry, I left the plate almost untouched. They did not charge us for the plate, but since I came home last night, I have been violently sick and had to go to the ER with severe food poisoning. I am so sad to say that I will never go back to this Glebe landmark restaurant.
