Really enjoyed brunch here! The breakfast poutine was delicious and the desserts' presentation was beautiful (they tasted even better). Service was fantastic as well and the atmosphere was cozy on a cold day.
One piece of constructive criticism would be to improve the espresso quality as it was subpar and not really an espresso shot at the length it was pulled.
Would still visit again when in town!

I was disappointed by the food. Very average, one of my dishes was very salty and I couldn't eat it. The second one was also too salty but edible. I was expecting more, definitely not worth the price. Sorry.

One of our staple fantastic dining experiences in Ottawa. Whether for brunch or dinner, food is always delicious and service is great.

Great service and atmosphere. Staff were attentive and kind. The food was fresh and high quality. The portions were also perfect, leaving us satisfied but not stuffed. I love that.

Fabulous. Fine dining in a casual setting. First time, went for brunch. Will definitely be going back for dinner.

Grand place for a small or large gathering. Reservation for 11 and we were seated in a prime balcony location. Quit and courteous service by our wonderful host Ryan. Might be one of the best flavoured dishes I've had in Ottawa. The duck was fabulous. Brussel sprouts were a bit under done but it made the textures of the plate very interesting with both sweet and savory sauces. Maybe that was the plan and laiman me didn't catch on. Thanks again and I will be back for the next birthday gathering.

Went here with my partner this past weekend for brunch on our anniversary. While the food was good, the service was very disappointing. The doorway area was crowded when we arrived so it took a while to be seated. This isn't a big deal, but many staff members walked by us and none of them greeted us or acknowledged that we had been waiting. Once I gave my name for the reservation we were brought upstairs, only to be told a few minutes later that they sat us at the wrong table and we had to move to a table downstairs. Once our food came, the server asked if we wanted ketchup and then took a long time to bring it over after I had already finished eating. He laughed it off and said he just had too many other things to do and was not apologetic. We ordered mimosas and our server seemed inconvenienced by this and laughed as though it was an outlandish thing to order. We opted to share some items and our server made a comment about family fighting over dishes to us which made me feel like we weren't seen as a couple on a date even though it was our anniversary which was a bit awkward. The whole time it felt like the staff were inconvenienced by us. I also got the sense they were walking on eggshells after seating us at the wrong table. We didn't mind having to move, but didn't appreciate that nobody was apologetic for the multiple inconveniences and instead gave us excuses for why it occurred (another reservation had same first name, they were busy with other tables, etc.) I am not one to write bad reviews but the experience put a sour taste in my mouth, especially considering this restaurant's reputation and that it was a special occasion.

The food was only ok. For the price I was expecting more. Two in our party were celiac and Gluten free options were almost non existent.

we were celebrating our granddaughter's 9 th birthday. She ordered the scrambbed eggs from the children's menu and they looked like a pancake..not at all puffy or appetizing. I was disappointed for her. My meal was fine and my husband really enjoyed his.
We had a business lunch a Gezellig. The service and food was impeccable, like I have come to expect at Gezellig. I have never had a less than above par experience in either at Gezellig. I was worried about the noise level being too loud for a lunch meeting. We were seated in the west area that has a low wall separating it from the rest of the space. At times the sound level was high but not for long, and it did not inhibit our conversations. Top marks for this wonderful Westboro institution.
Love that they have a lunch menu, with very good combo choices for a set price. I've been twice in the last month and very satisfied with service and great food and wine choices.
I've been coming to gezelig for years and have left happy 99% of the time. Yesterday was the exception, service was subpar, guests were left with empty drinks, while staff were congregating by the kitchen and not keeping tabs on our table. Food was good overall, but the oxtail dish came out cold and wasn't very good. The other 3 dishes were great. One staff came up to us after we paid and seemed to want to rush us out, this was disappointing. We wanted to stay for a night cap or two but we decided to go somewhere else given our experience.
Delicious good and amazing service and ambience
