We ordered the burger, mussels, prawns, and chicken sandwich. Everything was okay but nothing special. Burger had almost no seasoning so that was pretty disappointing. Service was nice.

Will Give This Place A Second TryRecently attended this place to celebrate a birthdayFoodCharcuterie plate for an appetizer - nice selection of cheeses from Quebec; portions were small but adequate; a good olive would have made this plate even betterCiabatta - served warm with olive oil and gastriqueNote: bread is not complimentaryBraised beef short rib - enjoyed the vegetables the chef chose to accompany the beef - potato, mushroom and broccoli - my favourites; enjoyed the beef, it was tender; in terms of flavour, the demi-glace was lacking; I definitely could not taste the horseradishDessertHad the butter finger dessert based on the description of another reviewer; it was OK, too sweet for my liking; would not have againCocktailDeep Thoughts - deliciousAll plates were nicely presentedServiceAttentive but not intrusive, just how I like itAtmosphereNice decor, tableware, furnitureOverall good experience, I'd consider coming back for brunch; it was noteworthy that our table did not have any salt or pepper, nor was any offered

On a recent gallivant to visit my beloved fiancée, I, a humble Dutchman, found myself ensconced in this charming establishment, as one must when one is far from the tulip-strewn fields of the Netherlands. The culinary delights that graced our table were a feast not just for the palate but for the soul, particularly when shared with such exquisite company. Our orchestrator of gastronomy for the evening, the effervescent Naomi, was nothing short of a marvel, weaving her personable charm with the finesse of a seasoned maestro and, with a twinkle in her eye, gently nudging us toward an encore with the wine. But ah, the pièce de résistance was not to be found on the menu, nor could it be summoned with the most eloquent of wine-induced eloquence. It was, dear readers, a kiss. A simple, sweet kiss from my sweetheart, which outshone even the most decadent of desserts, proving once again that love, indeed, is the most exquisite dish of all.And so, with hearts and bellies full, we vowed to return. The journey back from California to the brisk embrace of Ottawa’s weather is no trifling matter, but for the promise of another evening such as this, I’d traverse even more daunting climes. Until then, I shall bide my time, awaiting the season when the stars align for another rendezvous in this enchanting nook.

Our group of 5 tried 3 different apetizers (shared) and 5 different entres and 3 different deserts (shared). All were excellent. Not inexpensive but worth the treat for a special occassion.

Gezellig was exactly what I was looking for. Service was excellent and everyone that touched our table was knowledgeable. The food was flavourful, and delicious. A great evening all around.

A truly enjoyable experience. The food was excellent and nicely presented. I had the Braised Beef Short Rib and my date had the Pan Seared Fogo Island Cod. Both are highly recommended. The gezellig greens as a starter is also a must have. It has a nice selection of reasonably priced wines. The service was attentive and knowledgeable. The high ceilings keep the noise level to a minimum. This is a place to which we definitely will return.

The food was delicious and the service overall was friendly and attentive. Our server and the kitchen were great in accommodating a special dietary request. I really appreciated that the adjustments were made without any fuss or making me feel like I was causing an inconvenience.

Terrific food! We each had the beef tartare as an appetizer, the seared scallops as the entree, and finished with the "Butter finger" (shared) -- all of it was perfection! We will definitely go back!

Embarking on my inaugural culinary journey at Gezellig was a delightful affair. The warm embrace of the staff welcomed us, gracefully accommodating our request for an early table. James, our amiable server, added a personal touch to the evening with his friendly demeanor. Gezellig's thoughtfully curated menu, though not sprawling, unveiled a splendid array of options to satiate diverse palates. The dishes, impeccably presented and bursting with flavors, transformed our dining escapade into a sensory delight. Every nuance of our experience at Gezellig was savored with pure satisfaction.

This was the perfect restaurant for our Valentines lunch date! Service was amazing and food so delicious! Our server noticed we speak Spanish and she did her best to communicate with us in Spanish! Isn't that going above and beyond?! Her recommendations were spot on. I wish I could remember her name because she was amazing. We are already planning our next visit here!

I really appreciate the service here. As a solo traveller, I like how they were quick and served me very courteously. The soup was a little thin to my liking, and the cod entree was respectable. Their butter finger dessert was a pleasant surprise. Easily the best dessert I have had in recent memory and a must try.
