Pizza was decent, not really Italian style, but close. Calamari was greatly overpriced for such small portion, and half of the plate was salad that was mixed with the calamari and made them soggy.
One of the loudest restaurants I've ever been.
Expensive.

Its 2026. Only GF offering is the salad. Well meaning and kind but telling me thats its Italian food so they dont offer gluten free when you can get GF food for celiacs in just about every resto Italy is ill informed. I find this entire group of restaurants very behind the times in being inclusive for people with celiac disease. We canceled our reservation as a result and going to Ember in the Market instead.

Have always enjoyed this place. The food and atmosphere are really nice. I have gone back to the byward one multiple times. The Elgin one will always hold me back, because the last time I went there the server held my jacket hostage and legit went through the pockets found a document with my name on it and Instagram dm-d me to bring someone’s jacket back…..the entire time I was sitting eating food. I had to get up and grab it from someone’s arms. Like sorry to the person who lost their jacket that night, but maybe don’t let customers and servers just randomly go through jackets assuming someone who is very much present at the restaurant eating happily away is the thief.

Pizza was amazing, service was even better. Our servers were great and I especially enjoyed chatting with Gabby. I was surprised to hear she was only a hostess - someone give that girl a raise!

I have to say the star of the show was the burrata with bread (10/10),go the Giulia Caesar (8/10), Half Nelson pizza (9/10) & The Eltton (6.5/10). Tiramisu has this rich tasting moose chocolate on top (9/10)
Ordered their Shirley Temple, it’s so good in the beginning , but it loses its flavour half way through the glass.
Staff were friendly and everything was on point. Def recommend and will be back⭐️

Have been coming here for years since opening week. Came here Saturday night at 6:15 reservation and it was packed and uncomfortably loud due to multiple large groups. Food was just ok this time around. Quite disappointing actually. We shared a Caesar salad and two pizza's and had 2 glasses of wine each. Caesar salad was way too overdressed and soggy as a result. Salad tasted fine but needs some bacon or crispy procuitto and maybe a few croutons would be nice since Caesar salad is mostly just lettuce. Shared the Benjamin button (mushroom pizza) and the Sweet Tony (soppressata pizza). My personal favourites. Both were stretched way too thin and as a result were soggy in the centre and the toppings were very sparse. I'm not sure who was making pizzas sat night but come on...I think if we were lucky we got a slice of mushroom on every second piece of a mushroom pizza! Stop being so cheap and go back to the way it was. The dough here is excellent but make it a bit more consistent and top them properly. I only know this has changed because I am a regular customer and was embarrassed as it was my friend's first visit and she even said she likely would not return. How disappointing as it could and always has been way better than our last experience. Let me tell you that you need to get rid of those ridiculous mini (4 oz) Walmart juice glasses you use for wine...first of all they are not at all appealing to drink wine from and secondly, 4 oz is just a shame. Wine should be served in a proper wine glass and a minimum of 5 oz...with maybe a second option of 8 oz for those who want a larger glass. I still don't get it and you know this is an issue when my friend brings her own wine glass in her handbag! Everyone complains about this and we even said to the waitress what is up with this...she agreed and said everyone complains about them but still not changing them!

Cozy atmosphere and great service, though the food could be a touch more indulgent

Visited midweek without a reservation and was seated quickly, which was a nice surprise. The staff were warm, attentive, and welcoming from the start.

We tried The Beekeeper mocktail, which was refreshing with a subtle twist — balanced and not too overpowering, pairing nicely with the food. For our mains, we ordered the Benjamin Button and the Spicy Clarice pizzas. Both were flavorful and well-made, though they leaned a bit on the drier side and didn’t quite have that rich, indulgent feel we were hoping for.

For dessert, the lemon and berries cake was pleasant, sw

Really amazing atmosphere. Low lighting, very classy and rustic. The place does have a chlorine pool smell. Beverage sizes seem pretty small and are also pretty expensive. The pizza is delicious; I got the Sweet Tony pizza and it AMAZING. Highly recommend trying it!

I came for the first time with a few friends for a birthday. Nick was our server, and he honestly made our visit the best experience ever. He was kind, helpful, and had amazing customer service! He helped us choose between different options and gave us recommendations based on what we like. The food was amazing as well, we all enjoyed our meals and the portions are great! Thank you Nick for making our first experience the best we could’ve asked for. We will definitely be back!
