I no longer live in Ottawa so I can't speak for the rest of the menu. But I always stop by and pick up a huge order of egg rolls to freeze. They have the best egg rolls I've ever tasted.
A few people at my work place were talking about Golden Palace’s egg rolls and how they order them by the dozen for take out and, I comprehend why, then were delicious! I ordered a combo and my spouse ordered Cantonese chowmein and the portions were huge!! We brought more then half home to eat for lunch the fallowing day. I would recommend this place and will return. The old decor is rather nostalgic and the service was efficient and friendly: thank you.
I had heard a lot of recommendations for the Golden Palace. It wasn't bad, but not what I had been lead to believe. Famous egg rolls were OK, but just OK. Chicken dishes were, again, OK, but kind of tough. It wasn't a bad experience, and I will try it again, but overall, a bit of a let down.
