If you haven’t been this is your sign to go! Very cute decor and place to eat. The people were very friendly and showed us what an Arepa was. The vibe overall was great and then the food being so flavourful and delicious on top just made it even better!

Worth a B̤̈R̤̈Ë̤Ä̤K̤̈F̤̈Ä̤S̤̈T̤̈ S̤̈T̤̈Ö̤P̤̈ after offering Holy Mass @ St. Patrick!!! We enjoyed every bite of it. Paper below was the lining that dislike to stain it so I can share it to you! The reviews are where it stands for.

I wish I had a picture of this delicious sandwich. I got the Turkey Breast sandwich, added some lettuce, pickles, hot peppers, and mayo. But to show my sheer love and dedication, I added a picture of my crumbs. I ate, and Gooneys ATE. The workers are so kind, and attentive, quick to respond to guests. The BREAD. Now let me tell you about the bread. Soft, toasted to perfection, warm, Decadent. The prices? Incredible. None of that 17 dollars per slice of bread business. No no, 14 dollars for a combo!!!! Incredible. The vibes are incredible too, cute decor, lovely plants, soft Spanish music playing in the background. Absolutely gorgeous. Best meal I've had in so long. I will be coming back. Amazing. Show stopping.

straight up……. the best sandwich i have had in so long. i want to gatekeep bc it’s THAT good, and i’m a girls girl i NEVER gatekeep. gooney’s u have my heart. i will be thinking about the sandwich i ate until the next time i have a gooney’s sandwich. don’t walk, RUN to gooney’s. she’s affordable, she’s delicious, she’s scrum-diddly-umptious, and i fear i will never eat a non-goon sandy ever again. i’m officially a gooner for LIFE. in this crazy world we live in, i feel so happy to know there’s gooney’s.

Awful experience. Customer service is consistently very poor, and they are extremely unwilling to accommodate customers for something that is their fault. Also the food is not good, lacks flavor. I thought this was okay until I tried arepas at a market in London that blew me away.

Accidentally I discovered, had no idea about their sandwich. But as I prefer gluten free I really enjoyed the arepas and will come back soon. The avocado was fresh and perfect!

Never had an Areppa before this, the creamy and rich coriander sauce really complimented the crispy Pork and sharpness of the cheese which was cut by the shells themselves. Definitely one of my favourite places in Ottawa to get to treat myself

🌟 The Best Arepa Spot—Fresh, Flavorful, and Full of Vibes 🌟
Visiting Ottawa and stumbled upon this amazing arepa place—so glad we gave it a try! Hands down, the best arepas we’ve ever had. If you’re craving arepas that go beyond the ordinary, this place is a must-visit. Every bite is a burst of flavor—crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside, and generously filled with fresh ingredients! You wont be disappointed! Give it a try!

Best arepas in the Northeast! We’re visiting from Washington DC, where there are already some great arepa spots, but this place in Ottawa is excellent—maybe even better than the ones back home. The owner, Luis, was very friendly. I definitely highly recommend this place!

Read the reviews and decided to come and checked it out. Ordered Tuna sandwich on the white bread and I must say it was good..tuna was tasty and fresh. Good portion size reasonably priced which you normally don’t find these days. Good selection of bowls and sandwiches. Worth visiting

Stopped by here earlier this year for a lunch break nearby the LAC archives. It was just as incredible this time around with family. Not as busy as last time thankfully. It was absolutely packed back during my February visit but the line always moves very quickly. I had the vegetarian arepa which was divine. Others with me had the pernil arepa and Gooney’s arepa, which they had very good things to say about. Likely one of my favourite spots in Ottawa.

The sandwich I tried was definitely tasty, and it was my first time having an arepa, which was a nice surprise. The flavor was good, but I felt there was way too much cheese compared to the meat, which threw off the balance a bit. If they made the sandwich just a little bigger, it would feel like a better value overall. Still, it was enjoyable and worth trying at least once.

just how I like mine handfood!!!
Big, fatty, messy, and ready for running a marathon! Jokes aside. Amazing place!
They also sell Alfajores (cookies) which are a rare find here in Ottawa.

So tasty! The Sweet Isabella Arepas was delicious.
The arepas are awesome and I brought a friend who is celiac. I didn't have to compromise the taste and be gluten free. First time I ate outside with him since he is afraid of cross contamination!
