Went there after a sudden craving for sushi, got about an hour before closing, it's a nice small restaurant. Takeout only.Great customer service, we were greated the soonest we walked in.Place is clean and organized.Food was amazing,I just discovered a hidden gem, will visit again for sure. Gourmet Sushi has the best sushi (as far as I have tried) in Ottawa. It’s consistently fresh, tasty, and generously sized and portioned. The fish-to-rice ratio tremendous. The takeout-only service is friendly and efficient. There is a lovely woman who handles the orders with meticulous packaging, and a talented gentleman behind a curtain (think Wizard of Oz) who prepares the food. We love this place.

Without hyperbole the best sushi I have ever had in Ottawa or anywhere outside of Japan. Truly excellent. Even when compared to sushi in Japan the quality and care taken to ingredients and presentation stands out. This takeout only place has quickly become a favorite whenever we're feeling like sushi. The price matches the quality and is a gem of the downtown. Hard to go back to AYCE or sushi from other Japanese restaurants after ordering from here.
