I have been going to Hanoi 3 Seasons since it first opened over 20 years ago. I usually frequent the Queen Street East location as it's closer to me. Last week we went to the Gerrard Street location as the Queen Street location was closed for vacation. What I first noticed was how DIRTY it was. The floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years....disgusting. The service was very poor - the staff acted like they couldn't care less if they had customers or not. The food...well, I've ordered the same thing at least 50 times and it was nothing like I'd had before. The noodles seemed like they were reheated...there was almost no taste to the meal. It was gross. A terrible experience. I reached out to the owner as he's an acquaintance of mine and I was told by his nephew that Hai sold the Gerrard location to a relative and that he only ran the Queen Street location. That makes sense as that location is always clean and the food is very consistent. I think it's only a matter of time before someone gets sick from the Gerrard location as they clearly don't care.

My friend and I normally go to Hanoi three seasons on Queen Street and find the service and food impeccably good. It is closed for a week in January 2026 so we went to the Gerrard Street restaurant. We called ahead and had great difficulty placing an order with a young boy Who could not understand what we were asking . When we went to the restaurant and picked up the food, it looked like it had been reheated. The grouper
fish were small portions , Overcooked and dry and the noodles looked like they had been reheated in a gelatinous mess and brown scorch marks from what appeared to have been
Reheating in a frying pan.
The traditional vinaigrette dressing that is usually so delicious was just
Sickly Sweet sugar water. The cabbage salad and herbs were excessively small portions
The food was absolutely disgusting. I would never recommend the Gerard Street restaurant.
There is clearly no consistency of standards between these restaurants.

The price for one bowl of pho was 18$ without tax, and with the tax and tip ended up being 22$. I was surprised and didn’t realize it costed that much! Maybe they increased the price recently. I found it was a really really good bowl of pho but that price is just hard to get over.

Best Pho in town. I've been coming here for over 15 years, and it's still my favorite. Small and rather cramped little place, but the service is good and the food excellent.

The pho was very very mid, feels like the ones you can make it at home. The stock was a bit disappointing tbh and they use the thicker type of rice noodles. The atmosphere was not amazing either
Great fresh rolls! One of the best phos in town in my experience.

Cheap and cheerful 👌 food always hits!

Doesn't get more authentic than this place. Small, family run and damn tasty food. You'll think you're actually in Hanoi.
A small, warm, laidback (comfy) restaurant. A lovely menu with some rare options. I return time and again for the mussels. The broth is SO DELICIOUS that I order rice noodles on the side to sop up every last drop. Attentive waitress. Food is freshly made to order. Prices are reasonable. Pls go visit. You’ll love their food
As a northern Viet person, I really like this place. There are so many options for vegans and vegetarians since many of the mains that come with rice or bun noodles can be made veg with tofu instead, and they use the same sauces, herbs and seasonings. They all taste good to me! I always get these rather than veg pho which is never good at a meat restaurant. I really don't want vegetables (aside from herbs) in my pho as that doesn't taste right. If you want veg pho, go to a veg restaurant. There are almost no veg options at any of the other Viet places in this area so I'm grateful this place exists.
Also saw some people say the pho is lighter. Obviously I've never had the meat pho here but my grandpa used to like it. This is probably northern style pho (which is from North Vietnam), which is lighter and more delicate than southern pho. The latter is much more common in Toronto which is why people are unfamiliar with the difference and are expecting something else. You can google to learn more!
