Hareg Cafe & Variety Ethiopian Tastes

The whole time we were there we were served by two literal children (at most 14 y.o.) Their parents never made an appearance. Kids need to be learning, reading books, hanging out with their friends, attending after-school activities, studying, and having fun.
Otherwise, the food was exceptional and completely delicious. I recommend their food 100%.
The small bathrooms are clean but they really need to hire a contractor to paint them and make them nicer.
The murals on the wall are nice and there's a TV showing music from the region. I would definitely go back regularly but I'd like to see adults serving and working the cash, not kids.

There is no air-conditioning, it is so hot you can't even eat... Flies were inside which made the whole experience worse.
They don't offer any ice or cool water, everything is absolutely basic and you end up paying a big tip because of how they formatted their pos machine. To be honest, food is very authentic and good. Won't go back in summer.

Last week I invited a friend visiting the city to try out some good food at Hareg. Upon arrival, the resto had no air-condition and flies everywhere as I was placed to sit near the entrance. A woman came up smiling with a jug of water (not cold) but I realized she spoke no English. With the heat wave, I just pointed to a cold drink off the menu. The jug rested on the table. I eventually got a glass with a can. I had to request ice. The jug of water was then taken away. I noticed a group of 3 came in after us and got served much sooner. We waited for 20 minutes at least before having a meal. 5 stars to the cooks/chefs but service was very slow and much discomfort felt eating warm food in a hot resto!!

My friend and I had a fantastic meal here. We got the lamb and veggie platter for two. Each curry had a unique flavour and the injera was perfect. We ate so much lol

Staff were so helpful, friendly, and willing to teach me about Ethiopian coffee culture! The food was great and so filling. Great value for the cost. It also felt like a community supporting business.

First time trying Ethiopian food and it did not disappoint. Wonderful blend of spices and every dish was absolutely delicious. I will be back again.

A wonderful exotic experience!! Loved it all. Need to come back for a coffee ceremony!
