Very unassuming place from the outside but don't let this fool you. Everything inside is awesome. It is immediately noticeable because everyone greets you with a genuine smile. Waiter was very pleasant, taking time to give recommendations to us. We probably had five or six staff members helping us out through the experience and they were all extremely warm and welcoming and attentive.
There was not one time during our 2.5 hours stay where my glass of water was close to being empty. Same thing with the drinks. A person which I assume was the shift manager also took time to make sure every guests in the steakhouse were having a good time. The whole thing really seems like a well-oiled operation and so the only thing that could go wrong would be the food.
Food not only did not go wrong but it was the best piece of meat I have tasted thus far. I took the 14oz Black Opal Australian wagyu. Eating it was the easiest thing I did that day, the exterior was just hard enough to contain the inside which pretty much melted in the mouth. Old fashioned were also very tasty. My wife also enjoyed her steak very much.
The only thing I really regret about my experience is that now I'm gonna have to go on a regular basis (OK I don't really regret it).

Dined August 2, 2025 (check #178529-1, time 21:22-Table #80) Ordered 14oz ribeye steak (35 days dry), instead they brought 8oz tenderloin. Asked for a well done steak, but they cooked it medium. Fries as a side were overcooked, my wife asked for mushrooms and mashed potatoes, they forgot about the mushrooms, they have no kids menu, and you have to wait for the steaks 30+ minutes. Not worth the money.

Harmons Steakhouse is a joy for every foodie. The food is beautifully prepared and the service is attentive and friendly. My family and I had the pleasure of dining here and were absolutely delighted. From the creative Yorkshire pudding with Gruyère cheese that was our bread basket, to the succulent scallops ceviche, the delectable shrimp, and the delicious salad, everything was fresh and perfectly prepared and presented. The crème brûlée was a fabulous end to our meal. We were also given sweet sugar and cinnamon Yorkshire puddings to take home for breakfast the next day. This restaurant knows what they are doing and I highly recommend anyone going to downtown Ottawa to give it a try. Just wish there was a Harmons Steakhouse in Kanata, hopefully one day. Thank you to a brilliant chef and a great staff. Cheers!

Best service I have received in a restaurant in a very long time. Amazing, polite, fast and efficient. Beautiful place. The food was good. In particular the foie gras was simply amazing. The steaks were good, but I don't believe that they were sufficiently better than other places to validate the high prices asked.

Had a wonderful business dinner at Harmons. We were at a nice corner table and had an amazing waitress. We ordered many entrées and then we had different steaks. The desserts are very good and so are the portos. You may have to call Visa or Mastercard to increase your limit if you get the expensives wines😂.

We are very disappointed with both the lack of a clear pet policy and the way the staff handled the situation.
Before coming, we specifically asked if the restaurant was pet-friendly. One of your staff confirmed that it was, which is why we brought our dogs instead of leaving them at home. However, when we arrived, we were turned away without any apology, and no one could tell us who had given us the wrong information in the first place. We had to take the dogs back home and return to the restaurant, wasting over an hour.
Despite this poor experience, we still chose to stay and spend nearly $900 before tips. We planned to leave $20 in tips to the restaurant and give $60 directly to the server in cash. However, to our surprise, the server entered a tip amount on our behalf—even after seeing we only wanted to leave $20. It was only after we explained the situation that the restaurant corrected the charge.
This entire experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. We will not be returning. This is not how respectful or trustworthy establishments operate.

Had both a fantastic meal and experience at Harmons recently. I was even convinced, not hard, to have a shot of whiskey down the down from our marrow appetizer. Our server was extremely attentive and helped us navigate the evening perfectly.

We came as a group of ten and had an amazing time! Danika was our main server, super organized, friendly, and on top of everything. She made the whole experience feel seamless. A big shoutout as well to Eddy, who went above and beyond to help out throughout the night, refilling drinks, checking in, and making sure we had everything we needed. Both Danika , Eddy and other staffs made us feel really taken care of. Excellent service all around!
Ads-on: the drinks and food are on the expensive side, but it is worth it. The steak will melt in your mouth, and cocktails are delicious.
