The food was good but we were served wine in a half washed glass.
The wine was clearly watered down or pass due... Disappointing

A quiet day in The Heart & Crown for a large family lunch. Side of seafood chowder was excellent abundant chunky fish followed by the signature beef stew. A filling combo but well worth it for the flavours.

My burger was good, but yet it was small with a small serving of fries. Not what I expected for $24.
My wife had the soup of the day. Chicken jalapeño chowder. Looked good. But $9 for a soup?
My wife paid the bill, but she didn't notice until we were well gone, that the waitress charged us for a beer that we did not have. We did not drink any alcohol at all. My wife had a coffee and I had water. That was a cheezy move by the staff.
Not likely to wander in there anytime soon.

I love going to the Heart & Crown on Preston, the vibe is always immaculate. Live performances on the weekends, dance floor, great people and good drinks! It’s a must go if you want to enjoy live music with a pint of Guinness.

The heart and crown was a good pub food eat. We had a very good time with friends the atmosphere was as you would expect for a pub. The service staff was fantastic and the food was typically pub food. I had the fish and chips. While the chips were fantastic the fish was was only so, so. I found the batter to be soggy and lack that crispy crunch you need for an excellent batter you usually associate with a fish & chip plate.
Besides that the Heart & Crown is as you would expect from a local pub. We ate at the H&C with friends where one had a bowl of chowder while my wife and the other had the basa which is type of white catfish. They found the food just OK but as I said just the typical pub food.
I found the price a little over the top for the quality of the food but the service was great. Our service staff did so with a smile. However, for 3 beers and one white wine along with our meal for 4 the bill came to over $200 with the tip. I know we don't go out very often but the price seem high in my opinion.
