Tried this place for the first time. Service was great! We tried the sushi sashimi tray with rolls. Flavors are okay, no fishy smell. However, the rice is overcooked. It's too mushy. It is comparable to Mac sushi or bento sushi kiosks. Not the consistency we are looking for.

Quality has gone down. Prices out of proportion. Worst spicy scallop hand roll I’ve ever had in my life! So disappointing. Generally this place is good. I’ve had way too much sushi in my life, and coming from Vancouver it’s hard to find anything that compares. This was in my top picks, but I think I have to search for a new spot.

Every Sunday, there seems to be a new crew that is very different from the Tuesday to Saturday people. Every Sunday, I am never able to get through; I am hung up on, sent to voicemail, the phone slammed down and then a fax sound sometimes happens. When I’m close to a voicemail, the people there pick up the phone and then hang up. I’m not sure why this happens. The first 6 Sundays this happened, we thought perhaps they were having issues with their phone. But then the quality of the sushi was affected only on Sundays and now the service. The sushi is very delicious but the customer service on Sundays is shocking. My husband and I order from this place as least once a week and have decided to stop. Hopefully the owners and the good people on Tuesdays-Sunday see this and look into it. It’s awful.

I found the rolls too sweet for my preferences, the salmon on the dynamite roll looked a little wet and unappetizing, and there was a surprisingly strong fish smell to our platter (surprising because our rolls were mostly vegetarian / crab / tempura shrimp, which generally just smell like ocean). We all felt a little off after finishing, unfortunately.
This seems to be a family-run place and I wish them a lot of success! I hope some of the kinks can be sorted out. I was surprised by my experience considering the strong recommendations for this place, but it’s possible it was an off day or a disconnect between the recommendations and my tastes ?(4 stars because I want to share my honest review but don’t wish to harm this business’s rating)
Was very excited to try this new spot since I’ve heard such good things from everyone. I put in my order right when they opened and set a time for pick up. Everything was smooth. Got home and opened up my platter and it looked beautiful and tasted very good. Would have given 4 stars if I wasn’t up for five hours vomiting profusely and having diarrhea. One of the biggest cases of food poisoning I have ever experienced even my fiancé got a second hand dose of the runs. Would not recommend to anyone

Fantastic sushi in Orleans. One of the best Sushi in Ottawa. My only complaint is that it's so good that there is a consistently long wait for an order. I recommend ordering at lunch time for dinner if you want to get your order in time. I wish they had a website to order from, but then they'd also potentially be inundated with orders that they can't fulfill. Just shows how much people love their food.
