Overpriced and bland Samosa for $7.
The restaurant on site (academic institution) was in full price gauging mode for mediocre and overpriced food! The event organisers at Carleton theatre show on weekend should have some control over this greed just because one is sponsor doesn’t mean they should be allowed to sell overpriced/substandard meals just to recover their sponsored funds.

I’m not often in this part of Ottawa but driving by Host India, I was suddenly craving Indian lunch. I arrived at 11:30am. And I always say that when you go to a buffet, it is best to be there when it starts. Very colorful and lovely calm atmosphere with lots of traditional Indian Art. Buffet has a large selection of salads and hot dish dishes. I loved the hot vegetable pakoras with toppings. There are many vegetarian curries and also beef,Rogan Josh ( my favorite lamb curry). Tandoori chicken and nans.
Mango pudding, rice pudding (kneer) and gulab jamun.
A real banquet.

Host India has been one of our long-time go-to spots for genuine Indian food. Whether we dine in or pick up takeout, the quality is always exceptional. Every dish is vibrant, full of depth, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. They do a great job of honoring classic flavors while adding their own modern twists. Our takeout orders are always prepared precisely the way we ask.

How do you end up with a bill that's over 130$ for 2 meals/order of nann bread and 2 drinks? lol The place seemed a bit unclean and the server not the friendliest. Staff also shouldn't be outside smoking by the door going in. Unpleasant.

I've been coming here for many years for their lunch buffet and will keep coming back. The variety of food is extensive but I'll be honest, it's the butter chicken that keeps most people coming back. I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys an affordable Indian buffet!

We've been eating Host India several times now, and today was the best. We went to their website and ordered online - much better than Uber Eats or Skip the Dishes. The food arrived packaged in hard plastic containers that had also been individually wrapped in a saran wrap - so no leaks. The Naan was wrapped in thick, good quality foil - so still very warm. The Aloo Tiki (potato patties) were very tasty. The Paneer Makhanwala, a staple every time we order) was spot on. We tried the Ginger Chicken for the first time and it already is some we know we will reorder again. The food was delivered on time. They have a very well-rudelivery service.

Ive eaten here for the last decade and I don't know what they changed but the food is simply not good anymore and not worth the price at all (which doesn't even come with rice or naan anymore). My husband and I ordered takeout tonight despite the fact our last few experiences with the food havent been great and im sad to say this is the last time. Their butter chicken was one of my favorites but this time when I ordered it the chicken was so tough and bland it was almost inedible. He had a similar experience with his beef vindaloo which was full of grisle and not even spicy. Really disappointed.
