I've stopped by here a few times to pick up goodies - the pastries here have been fantastic. A friend and I tested out the supreme croissants, which were a fun experience - delicious fillings. At a different date, I picked up an almond butter croissant that blew me away. I look forward to eventually trying out some of their Financiers. I have never stopped to hang out in the shop but it's a cute place and I love looking at the painting they have at the front of the shop (apparently of the shop's namesake, the dog Hugo).

The staff are super nice. We tried two kinds of macarons and their famous pistachios supreme croissant. The croissant was delicious but a bit expensive at $8. The macarons on the other hand were terrible. Both kinds of macarons (lemon poppyseed and crème brûlée) were stale and had an unpleasant aftertaste. We won’t be going back.

I deliberately went there because I heard it was run by a Korean, but I felt like I was being watched because there were kids. The kids touched the display stand to choose the macaron flavor, so the writing there must have been erased. They got angry and asked me not to let the kids touch it, so I apologized and the kids sat down. Well, I ordered one drink per person, bought 9 macarons and 2 pastries, and took a seat. But they stared at me so much that I sat there for about 15 minutes and left. The part-time worker who was upset because my writing was erased didn't even respond to me because I was writing. It was uncomfortable, so I sat next to Hugo Taco. I went and ordered tacos for a number of people and ate them at the patio seats, but the person who I presumed to be the owner followed me there and stared at me, making me feel very uncomfortable. I purposely came all the way downtown for no reason, but the experience was not very good.
Kid-friendliness: If you take a child with you, you may receive harsh glares.

I started coming to this place because of this oriental pattisserie chef who made the best croissants (all kinds of it). They were out of this world. This weekend I came by and both days this master pattisier was not in the place. Regardless, I ordered croissants and both days they were not nice at all, in fact they were so dry and even burt (way past its baking time). A total different product but same price. I felt so short changed . I will cone back only when that dude who makes amazing pattisserie is around. Otherwise, not worth paying exorbitant prices for products that are below Starbucks standards.

But the canele seem not fresh make ? Because it is very soft outside… usually I have is very crispy outside and soft inside.
The Croissant rolls are very good. May come back for this
