I came here for the first time and honestly, it felt special. The owners are so warm and welcoming that the moment we sat down, I felt like I was back home in Algeria. There is a real sense of hospitality here, the kind you can’t fake.

The food was incredible. The mhajeb and bourek were unbelievable, the tajines were full of flavor, and the couscous with lamb tasted like a true home-cooked meal. Every bite brought back memories.

I came with my sister and her husband, who are regulars here, and now I fully understand why they love it so much. I will absolutely be coming back and I already know I’ll be bringing friends and family with me next time. It’s the kind of place you want to share with people you care about.

Thank you again 🩷

Idriss Restaurant in Ottawa offers an authentic and flavorful experience. The food was excellent rich in taste, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. However, everything was served at once, which made the timing feel a bit rushed.

The dining room is on the smaller side but very nicely decorated, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. One thing to note, parking can be tricky in the area, so be careful where you park to avoid a ticket.

What a gem! This place has such a cozy vibe — you feel comfortable the second you walk in. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the food honestly tastes like it was made at home with love.

The couscous is AMAZING — probably the best we’ve had in Ottawa. Everything is full of flavor, hearty, and really satisfying. Portions are generous too, so you definitely won’t leave hungry.

Very good cuisine and amazing food. Our friends came from Toronto and enjoyed the restaurant. We visit this beautiful restaurant on a regular basis. Wafa is an outstanding waitress
The families come from far for nice sitting and beautiful music .
Really is the best resturant in ottawa and best staff, we recommended this resturant to all,

had the pleasure of visiting today. The food quality was outstanding — fresh ingredients and beautifully presented dishes. The staff were attentive and polite, and the place was clean and comfortable. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that I would definitely recommend to others.

Had a fantastic meal at Idriss Mediterranean tonight 🇩🇿

I ordered a couple of Mhajeb (the highlight), and a Hrira soup with a Vegetarian Bourak (loved the filling). Others in the group ordered the Olive Tajine which came with rice and caramelized onions and an olive and pepper appetizer with a baguette.

Our host was excellent and friendly, guiding us through the Algerian cuisine landscape. The food was delivered quickly and the flavours hit 💯.

I will definitely be returning, next time for the Algerian Tea Set and to eat in the more traditional room. I learned more than I thought I would about Algeria today, all thanks to Idriss Mediterranean. Thank you / merci 🙏!

Excellent local treasure. They have amazing tajine dishes, cooked in clay services. Their food and sauces are all homemade. The atmosphere is very comfortable. The picture is a traditional low table, however there is plenty of normal seating a nice summer patio.

The food was exploding in flavours unique to North African cuisine. The couscous was the best I’ve ever had. Wafa is very welcoming and has a very pleasant personality. The atmosphere was very nice as we sat in their traditional room. I’ve been twice and will continue to go.

I’ve visited twice already, and my family is already planning our third visit! Every time has been a fantastic experience.

The food is nothing short of amazing—fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The staff here go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. One of the most thoughtful moments was when they noticed the Maghrib adhan notification on my phone after closing time. They kindly offered us sheets to pray on and even insisted we do so indoors since it was raining.

If you're looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a meal, I highly recommend the Royal Grill, especially paired with their refreshing Algerian Mint Tea.

For those looking for a more private dining experience, they have a private room available (which I believe requires advance booking) that can comfortably accommodate 5-8 people.
