Lamb curry is to die for. Onion bhaji is also amazing. 10/10 service. Would highly recommend this place if you’re ever in the byward.

A small mom/pop style eatery/ store (selling Indian masalas), run by a Bangladeshi family.
Small menu list and not a great ambiance. You can grab a quick bite. Pricing is standard for byward market area and can feel like ridiculously high for what you get to eat here. It more feels like a store.

Terrible rude old man who doesn’t know how to run a restaurant. We asked for a couple of chais and he said we must order food bacause there’s “nothing readymade” in a chai. Why the hell you are running a restaurant and not a souvenir shop?

I visited India Cafe during my short visit to Ottawa in early September. The menu has an extensive variety of options, and everything we tried was great. I really enjoyed the creative takes on traditional foods. The food is really outstanding! Every meal we had was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I really suggest the Chicken Biryani and Butter Chicken. Hands down, some of the most delicious food I've eaten lately! They utilize only the freshest ingredients and ensure that each dish is properly prepared. The Butter Chicken was very memorable. "Must try!" The food and service quality was truly exceptional. I can't say enough positive things about the service at India Cafe. The staff here genuinely cares about their guests. They were attentive, courteous, and pleasant. They made us feel like VIPs. This restaurant has the best ambiance. Whether eating inside or outside, you will be surrounded by beauty and charm. I highly recommend this restaurant

Downright despicably good saag lamb ricr and salad plate for 15 big ones.
