A woman came to my door claiming she was collecting donations for this restaurant’s anniversary. I declined politely, and instead of handling it with professionalism, she turned bitter and snapped “cheap” at me. That was shocking, rude, and absolutely unprofessional.
I have no issue with restaurants celebrating milestones or even fundraising, but insulting people for saying no takes it to another level. If this is how they choose to represent themselves in the community, If this person truly represents the restaurant, it speaks volumes about how they value the community and potential customers.
Instead of celebrating an anniversary with gratitude toward customers, they’ve sent someone around to guilt-trip strangers and hurl insults. This left me with such a negative impression that I have no interest in ever visiting.
My food (hamburger and poutine) were served cold after a long wait. My husband's meal was hot.
