Very authentic Japanese food but one of my favorite things about this Izakaya is the atmosphere and interior decoration. Feels similar to some older Izakaya in Japan. The food itself has great presentation and is fair prices for what you get

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was genuinely reminiscent of an authentic Japanese Izakaya, and the service staff were nothing short of pleasant. Regrettably, the culinary aspect of our visit was quite disappointing. The fried tofu, rather than being crisp, was rendered soggy by the broth it was served in. The takoyaki contained a surprisingly minimal amount of octopus, and while the chicken karaage had a satisfying crisp, the cuts of meat were exceptionally fatty, almost entirely composed of fat. I suspect this establishment suffers from being the sole Izakaya in Ottawa. Without local competition, there's little motivation for them to elevate their food quality, as those craving Japanese shareables and drinks are effectively compelled to dine here.

Absolutely great spot! Staff was stellar, quality food, and the place was very clean. We had a good sized group (10) and service was on point, frequent, and the right combination of quick, but not pressed. Price was also reasonable!

We spent well over $250 in the 2 hours we were there and saw our waitress twice. The last 45 mins, we didn't see her at all. I had to ask someone else for the bill. We were ready to order several more rounds and dessert but didn't get the chance. The food was really good. The service was sub par.
