Honestly felt like I had been transported to Japan. This izakaya looks and feels incredibly authentic. The service was quick and kind. Following along the theme of being an authentic Japanese izakaya it only serves high quality Japanese beer, sake (and plum wine) and whiskey. They also have a selection of soju. The food we had was pretty good, and there were a number of shareable and single meal plates.
An incredibly cozy, almost intimate, place that is great for friends, work outtings, and date nights. The food is wholesome, filling, and, paired with the selection of Japanese drinks, is very satisfying.
I'm incredible happy to have a place like this in Ottawa which gives us a window into a style of restaurant from another culture that feels under-represented here. I will recommend this place to everybody.

The food can be good, but service is really hit or miss most of the time. I have visited 4 or 5 times and half of that time, they forget drinks and bill you for them.
The food is generally pretty tasty - notable the curry tonkatsudon. As for the small plates, they could generally be better but are okay - they're just expensive for what it is.
