Really great sushi — fresh, tasty, and beautifully prepared. Customer service was outstanding as well. Will definitely be back!

Sushi was mediocre and not worth the price. The avocado wasn't very fresh for starters. Additionally the atmosphere was uncomfortable and a man was staring at me and it made me uncomfortable. There are better places to take your money.

Good sushi but I excepted a bit more from the hype. It is definitely tasty, but quite pricey.

My daughter and I are originally from Vancouver, BC so perhaps our expectations for sashimi and sushi are a little high. Nonetheless, we have never been to a Japanese restaurant where plain rice is unavailable. I actually had to ask two different servers if they joking about the rice; they weren’t. We couldn’t order a bowl of plain rice from this Asian restaurant: go figure. We were also surprised to find lemon slices placed in between some of our sashimi as this “cooks” the fish, which defeats the whole purpose of eating sashimi. The Japanese sushi makers behind the sushi bar should know better than this, but maybe they’re too busy serving overpriced, trendy, glorified maki rolls at special roll prices. (My Red Dragon roll was gross.) Finally, rather than charge $30 for a supersize tray of deep fried veggies and prawns, the restaurant could charge a more reasonable $20 and half the serving size; this would make it more align to the portion size of tempura dishes at other more self-respecting Japanese establishments all over Canada and Japan. The service was fine and our server was apologetic. But it can’t make up for the overpriced, underwhelming sashimi, sushi, and food. Won’t be back.

I had heard about this restaurant from quite a few people for a while and knew I had to try it. As a sushi enthusiast, I am very pleased to say that it surpassed my expectations. This is likely one of the best sushi spots in Ottawa.
The food was very good, I’d say an 8/10. I would be happy to go back here and try out other dishes. The special rolls were all very good and presented very nicely. I think the taste just falls short of the best sushi I’ve ever had, but is still highly recommendable.
Service was decent, nothing very good or bad either way. They were friendly and knowledgeable when asked questions.
The restaurant is small and intimate, however it is still possible to come here with a small to medium sized group. Do note that they don’t take reservations, so on busier nights you may have to wait a bit longer.

This was some of the best Sushi I've had in Ottawa. I went with 5 friends and every one of them said they need to come back again! Glad I ordered the favourite five platter... Got to try a few different things and had some leftovers for the next day. Definitely check it out.
Food is consistently top-notch and great quality.
HOWEVER, the restaurant is very cold in the winter due to poor design where the only door into the place leads directly outside. Super cold draft passes through the entire place when someone opens the door.

Update to my previous 5*. Was excited to go a second time as we dont get to travel to ottawa much. Much different this time around. Service was slow and inattentive. Dirty glassware and impossible to grab their attention. Never asked for drinks. Food quality took a dip, some of the octopus in the fried balls were still frozen. A frozen piece should never be found in a deep fried dish. Had I not been impressed first time around, this would easily been an awful night. I guess all restaurants can have an off night, but we cant risk the inconsistency.

Creative unique flavours & decent sized rolls (usually between 5-8 pieces depending on your selection). We were fairly full after ordering 4 rolls & chicken karagge. We had the Dynamite, red dragon, salmon oshi, and sunset (my personal favorite where the fish melted in your mouth!)
They don’t take reservations and we arrived 430 (opening hour) on Sunday, and the restaurant was packed by 5! Definitely recommend arriving early.

Sushis are fine but the ones in the Favorite 5 are just dripping of mayo and other sauces. Maybe I should have ordered something else...
I have nothing to say about the service, the staff was pleasant and efficient.
For the atmosphere, brace yourself for loud pop music. I'm too old for that.
