I really recommend the Hokkaido Hotate Crudo (scallop in green sauce)and the Island signature roll (video), these are really unique plates that will satisfy if you have a passion for culinary art, and you cannot really find else where in the city. Plus don’t worry about the taste, everything was as amazing as they look. The waiter and waitress are also very caring and super friendly. I will definitely come back!

Outstanding food and amazing service. The fish tasted so fresh and the dishes were so creative. Top Sushi I had in Ottawa.
The BEST sushi I’ve had in my life. I tried so many places all over the world in search of sushi that tasted the same as this spot but I have yet to find one. Truly an ottawa hidden gem. Everything is so fresh and goes down like butter, the flavour profile is ummatched

It was our first time visiting, and everything exceeded our expectations! The service was excellent from start to finish. Our waitress took the time to walk us through the entire menu, which made the experience even more special. The food and wine+drinks were all outstanding, and I even had the chance to chat with the chef/owner, which I was glad to meet and share my experience with directly. We can’t wait to come back again!
Thanks to the whole team, congrats !

RATS BEWARE!!!!! Though we were having a nice time then we saw the rats 🤢🤮
I had an outstanding dining experience at Jfuse. The quality of the sushi really stood out — everything was fresh, cleanly prepared, and beautifully presented. My personal favorite was the o-toro, which just melted in my mouth and was one of the best I’ve had in the city.
I highly recommend ordering the omakase selection if you want to experience the chef’s creativity and the best of what Jfuse has to offer. Each piece felt carefully chosen and balanced, making the meal both exciting and memorable.
The cocktails were also a pleasant surprise — well-crafted, refreshing, and thoughtfully paired with the food. It’s clear the bar team puts just as much care into their drinks as the kitchen does with the sushi.
On top of everything, the service was excellent. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, always making sure we were comfortable and explaining dishes when needed. Their warm and professional approach really elevated the whole evening.
Overall, Jfuse delivers on every level: fresh sushi, inventive drinks, and top-notch hospitality. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending it to friends and colleagues.

came here to celebrate my birthday and I was very excited as I love their sister restaurant j:unique. I tried the sampler box which was a great way to get a little bit of everything. but the sushi rice was consistently falling apart! I expect more from a higher end sushi spot. I also found the timing of the service weird. we had four people eating and for the beginning of the meal only two people had food.

Food was great and the place was super cute! Fair warning if you’re going to host any sort of birthday dinner or event here - they are very unprofessional and not accommodating. They had weeks in advance and also knew I was bringing in a table of 10, they did not inform us at any point in time between reserving and the actual dinner that last call was 9:15 (had multiple points of communication between then). At the dinner when we were told about last call ~15 mins before the server did not mention that it included drinks. A menu item multiple people ordered they didn’t mention until last minute that they were sold out, then gave us about 3 seconds to order something else given the last minute last call notice.
When we called about bringing a cake they said no outside food, we can photograph and slice and serve but “not eat” - they only agreed when extra money was offered. Then after blowing out candles and asking for a knife to cut the cake, we were told we “had about 10-15 minutes to eat” - mind you this was nudged even before 10pm (closing time). The staff just kind of stood around looming over us, basically rushing us to scarf down cake and open presents. I pressure in a rush we had to navigate a second space for a group of 10 and ended up having to relocate and bring all the presents, cake, and flowers elsewhere to slice and eat.
I understand there are rules in place but no proper warning was given - otherwise I would have chosen another place to celebrate. Unfortunate because I really did enjoy the food, but myself along with my guests were uncomfortable and it definitely ruined my birthday experience, so because of that I’m super deterred to go back. For the sake of future guests please coordinate better with management and staff - if you have strict rules have your servers enforce them more clearly so that your customers are aware so they don’t need to go through what we did! Even better - give a heads up while booking to avoid any sort of confusion or miscommunication.

We visited JFuse on the recommendation of friends, and it certainly lived up to the hype. Between the two of us, we ordered four dishes along with some beer: salmon tartar, oysters, shrimp (Ebi Mayo), and the JFuse roll. Every dish was fabulous, but the shrimp stood out so much that we immediately ordered a second round. The atmosphere was casual and inviting, and the service was superb from start to finish. The only thing we regret is not discovering this place sooner, especially to take advantage of their outdoor space during the warmer months. That said, we’ll definitely be coming back. The bill came to about $100 for everything, which feels like a steal these days given the quality of food and experience. Highly recommend!

JFuse is the go-to place to immerse yourself in a never-to-forget journey to taste great sushi in Ottawa.
Recently, they have introduced an exciting brunch menu, offering the best Benedictine eggs in Ottawa. Perfectly cooked, served at the right temperature, with cream, and accompanied by a side of green salad and potatoes in three modalities (salmon, pork, or vegan).
The service is exceptional, and the environment is ideal for having a great conversation with your family, friends or colleagues.

Pretty pricey for tiny portions…rolls were drenched in mayo/sauce, lacking authenticity.

Dropped in while biking a few days ago: Hit them just at opening so no reservation was needed. Fantastic oshi sampler and Red Wave roll was excellent. The sampler pieces were all delicately seared infusing a nice touch. They have one of the best restaurant prepared Soy Sauce which has a hint of smoked fish in the background. The meal was fantastic and the dining space is nicely done.
Great service and vibe! The veggie roll was good but I felt like they could’ve done something more imaginative for the vegetarian option. The tofu don was delicious, and a great price for the size. My only complaint there was that the rice was doused in sauce when the tofu itself was already very flavourful so it was a bit much. If the tofu was paired with plain white rice, it would’ve been perfect!
The food was good but it was expensive and portions were small. We order a few plates to share. Service was good.
