Food is reliably good, not sure if go out of my way to say it’s the best food ever had but it’s solid.

TLDR: grossly overpriced for level of service, food quality & atmosphere. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning.

We came to this restaurant when visiting Ottawa to see my brother and SIL. They’ve been to this restaurant twice before and loved it, so wanted to bring my mom and I for our last night in Ottawa. When we arrived we had water (✅) and ordered drinks & 2 apps, then our main meals. After our orders were placed, service went MIA. We wanted to order a bottle of wine (for $65, thank god we didn’t) but the sever never came back to check on us so we didn’t get the chance. We weren’t offered more / another drink or more water. The table beside us had empty wine glasses and were ignored as well. Once our food arrived, 3/4 dishes arrived. At least 5-8 mins later, my brother got his, well done, steak dish-he asked for medium rare and somehow it was still cold despite being overcooked. By the time the rest of us waited for his food to arrive before digging into ours, they obviously got cold too-not the kitchens fault but bringing dishes out at different times is. My gluten free pizza was good-better than I expected actually, but table beside us sent their dishes back for being too cold too.

The bees were INTENSE. Again-not the kitchens fault, but a decoy hive or some candles on tables may help deter this in future and the bathroom garbage was well-overflowing. Maybe “little” things, but when your bill comes over $300 and you’re paying $16 for a sad garden salad, it’s hard to justify when the restaurant doesn’t match the price bracket they’re in. If you’re going to charge $25 per pizza (non gf, mine was +7 for gf / df), $16 for cocktails, $65 for bottles of wine, etc. the service and ambiance has to match the prices and here is fails miserably.

I would recommend Guilla down the street. I only went there to use the bathroom and I was greeted by ever staff member I walked by upon entry AND exit.

*Editing to add: someone on Reddit compared it to “a step above east side Mario’s”- harsh but accurate.

Nice place, good was ok. Server didn’t get the order right (it happens). Plenty of veg friendly options as you would expect from an Italian restaurant.

We didn't get our drinks until after our meal came, apparently the bar was backed up.... Our food came very quick which was a nice surprise as it was very busy. But our food was luke warm. No one came back to check on us after our food was served. My daughter got the sausage penne which didn't have enough pasta and was pretty runny. I got the johny farina pasta, it was good but like I said it would have been better served hot

I had chosen this place for the gluten-free pizza dough but they were out of dough. However, the person who took care of us suggested primavera gluten free pasta and it turned out to be one of my best meal since my dietary restrictions. She really double-checked everything to make sure there was no onions and garlic and the GF pasta were so good I was convinced she had made a mistake. Good food, great service, beautiful restaurant. My partner really enjoyed his margherita pizza as well. Said the crust was to die for. I highly recommend. The prices are fair.

Late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Great downtown location, nice service.
Carb loading before Ironman Ottawa and the pasta hit the spot. Couldn't pass up the desert sampler, it was excellent!

It is a good Italian restaurant but I wouldn’t give a 5 star considering the food portion and price. I have had better Italian foods with leas price.

Carbonara pizza was burnt and tasteless . Air conditioner seemed broken and people were sweltering in the heat. Server was nice and did the best he could. Disappointed and don’t recommend.

Our waitress was great! The 1 star is for the hostess. We walked in at 4pm on Saturday August 2nd and asked for a table for 3. The hostess was quick to say there were no booths available only option was to sit outside or the bar. We looked outside and asked if we would be squished in the corner her reply was “yes exactly”. She mentioned they were getting a “huge rush” coming in the next 30 minutes
We asked her when will the next table be available and then she acted as if she could squeeze us in and directed us to the high tables on the bar side.
Like I said our waitress was great however we ate our dinner amongst 7 empty tables, 3 empty booths. Which we would have preferred to sit at more comfortably. By the time we left at 5:15 these tables were still empty.
We nearly walked out during our first interaction so I think it’s important to highlight the hostess who didn’t care for our business on the busiest weekend in Ottawa!
