Just had their south indian brunch buffet and it is AMAZING! Both the food and ambience are beyond expectations. Reminded me of having a south indian breakfast in India. Keep it up guys for this great service to the Indian population in Ottawa.

I recently visited this restaurant and tried a few dishes, Masala Dosa, Kadai Paneer, and Chilly Garlic Naan.
The dosa itself was crisp and had that perfect golden-brown color—just how I like it. However, the potato masala filling fell a bit short. It lacked the robust flavor I usually expect in a masala, making it taste somewhat bland. If they could add a bit more spice or seasoning, it would make a huge difference.
Kadai Paneer was a winner! The paneer was fresh and soft, and the spices were well-balanced, delivering the right kick without overpowering the flavors. Chilly garlic naan had the right balance of garlic and chilly flakes, and the naan was soft yet had just enough chewiness. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who loves a bit of zest in their bread.

I ordered a mutton appetiser and Roti. Specifically asked for them to come together…reminded twice.
Mutton is served without Roti. So I sat there for 20 minutes while the mutton got cold.
Then I simply paid for the mutton (which I left on the table untouched) and left.
They couldn’t care less.
I will never return.

This is how restaurant fail: poor service, order not followed, side dishes came first after a long wait, only to wait again for tandoori roti for another half hour, drink served last. Frustrating experience.

I have been regularly customer of Kachiguda from a while even did many take outs. From Biryani’s to momos to appetisers to dosa.
They have been always top notch.
My favourites - Shahi Chicken Biryani and Chicken 65. For Veg I would say Paneer tikka biryani and Honey Chilly Gobi.
Highly recommend them if you need to eat Indian food in & around Kanata, Ottawa.

I had ordered idli sambar for take out. The quantity of sambar was low. It was quite spicy and had hardly any veggies like how a traditional sambar should have.
Edit - so after reading the review I would change the rating to 1 star and also let everyone I know to avoid the place. Your response made no sense. Your sambar was less and had no veggies. I know what a good sambar should taste like. At least have the courtesy to take feedback constructively.

Ambiance: The restaurant offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The décor is modern, yet comfortable, and the lighting is just right for a relaxing meal. There's a nice balance between quiet corners for intimate conversations and more lively areas for larger groups.
Service: The staff is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, offered good recommendations, and ensured we had everything we needed throughout the meal.
Food Quality: The dishes were well-prepared and delicious. The flavors were well-balanced, and the ingredients tasted fresh. The portion sizes were reasonable, and each dish was presented beautifully. Whether it was appetizers, main courses, or desserts, everything tasted as good as it looked.
Cleanliness: The restaurant was spotless, from the dining area to the bathrooms. The tables were cleaned promptly, and the overall hygiene was up to par.
Value for Money: While it’s not the cheapest place to eat, the quality of the food and service justifies the price. If you're looking for a more upscale dining experience, this restaurant is well worth the cost.
Overall Experience: A great place for a special occasion or a casual dinner. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
Ps : Idli is great
