There is no real Caffe. We went to their home on June 27th, 2024, and picked up food at Ry Walk Circle. We couldn't get a bill out of order from their payment machine. However, I asked for the receipt by email but haven't received it yet. Karuna told me my bill was $83, but they charged around $99. The most disgusting part was that my wife had a stomach ache after that meal.
Honestly have no idea why this place is only 3.6 stars. Because they have my favorite masala dosa and vada in the city. It's one of my favorite dishes ever, and I have tried Masala Dosa at pretty much every place that offers it in the city, and none have beaten Karuna Cafe! Their Vada too. I enjoy eating on their patio, it's right on Somerset and is nice and sunny and quiet. The inside needed some work done atmosphere wise, but I heard that they recently did renovations to their interior so excited to come back and see what it looks like. I guess their other dishes are somewhat a hit or a miss, according to the reviews and a few times I've ordered something different like their chicken curry which was just okay - but overall, Karuna cafe is an exceptional option for Masala Dosa and Vada in my opinion. Consistently fresh and delicious.

Highly priced. Made with same oil. Tastes so awful. We went there with high expectations.

SAVE YOUR TIME DONT COME HERE
Food was delicious. Definitely recommend the Rasam! Super flavourful, easily the best I’ve had!

Beware of diarrheaWe went for dinner there. No other customers were there although nearby restaurants filled with people. We specifically went there to try egg hoppers and kottu despite the bad reviews. The food were extremely bad (the look is ok). The egg hoppers were not as we expected or requested. The kottu did not taste good. If you know what authentic hoppers and kottu are, you will be really disappointed. They gave coconut sambal with hoppers but that was the worst coconut sambal I have ever tasted in my life. Despite the quality, the food was extremely expensive. Soon after we arrived home all of us got diarrhea. Probably because of the bad eggs. This restaurant should be avoided at all cost.

I order chicken masala dosa through uber eats, the dough was so sour and there were only 3 little chicken pieces with no meat in them. They were just bones. Tasted really bad too. Over all for a 19 dollar chicken masala dosa, it was just hideous and expensive. I can easily say all of your food sucks.
We had dinner at this place & all the preparations were made fresh to order & loved the food. Puliogare was great and so much Chicken Biryani. The quantity was great. Loved fresh masala in Masala Tea! Overall would surely recommend this place!
Amazing place. Try there Chicken Kothu Roti. It’s amazing and I love there goat curry as well. A great South Indian restaurant.
The worst food ever. Idli's tasted like dough and were hard as rock. String hoppers were frozen and crumbled. We were told to heat it up in the microwave and it would be better, but when we heated it up it became rubbery and hard. We threw the whole box away. Service was poor and staff were not apologetic for the pathetic food. Prices were exorbitant. The sambhol was tasteless and the pittu was hot and decent. I only enjoyed the SAMBAR THAT I MADE AT HOME.
