Kettlemans tries very hard to make a Montreal style bagel and almost succeeds. They have the wood fired oven right and the bakers seem to know what they are doing. But -- and it's a big but -- they are much too sweet. My guess is that they add far too much honey to the water used to boil them before baking.
If you have had St Viateur or Fairmount you will know what I am talking about.

Kettlemans Bagel opens 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and thats all you can ever ask for. Breakfast bagel is the best value, staff are friendly and always ready to help. It's nice seeing them make the bagels infront of you.

I will never go back to this place! I ordered a Turkey bagel and added a a Nanaimo bar to my order. The cashier passed me the machine to pay and was surprised that it came up to $26.63. He quickly went to the back before I asked for the receipt to double check the price. Then I asked another employee for my receipt and she called him over. Right away before I even said anything he said âoh I charged you extra by mistakeâ So I asked him to give me the receipt and noticed he had added salad, which I didnât order. He claims that he tried to reimburse me on my card but it didnât work. So I insisted to that he give me cash. He wanted to only give me the amount not including the tax. I insisted that he includes the tax amount. I asked the other employee if he was the manager and she said he was the supervisor. No apologies from this guy and didnât seem regretful. I will never go back to this place as I do not want to get robbed by management/ owners!

We love Kettlemans! Customer service is a little unfriendly and rude, depending on the days (service is better at Landsdowne location from my experience). But the bagels are consistently great!
Just one thing: there are NEVER any blueberry bagels left, even if you go around 10AM. It is such a popular item... I don't get why they just don't make more!?
