The lunch buffet is best if you go when they open. Anytime after an hour of opening, the food gets bad and it’s worst if you go at 2 pm as the kitchen closes at 2.30. This was told when we called earlier……No buffet replenishment is done after 2 pm. Whatever is left, dry or without any meats….thats all you get….and yet you pay the full price.
Thats unfortunate. This place was good until they started compromising on service and food quality……

I had a very disappointing experience at Kochin Kitchen in Ottawa. I called them at 2:31 PM to confirm if they were open, and the staff told me they were. Since I was only a 10-minute drive away, I immediately headed there. By the time I reached, not only did they tell me they were closed, but the staff were extremely rude about it.
This was not just inconvenient—it cost me my time, effort, and even street parking fees for nothing. It’s very unprofessional to mislead customers over the phone and then treat them poorly in person. I was genuinely looking forward to trying their food, but after this experience, I left feeling frustrated and disrespected.
I hope the management takes this seriously, because customer service matters just as much as the food.

I wouldn't recommend this place. The food is dosed with sodium carbonate, an old and unethical restaurant trick used to minimize the amount of food that individuals can consume. Sure, one could choose from a variety of foods, but none of it tastes good and it was rather bland. The price is also not justified. Perhaps the cost of running a restaurant business in the center of Ottawa is high, but that shouldn't justify resorting to unethical practices. There is always the option to close shop.

Authentic kerala food! Great quality of food as well. They recently seemed to have switched to buffet only. While they have good variety of food, I preferred to place my own order. Good chai as well.

Genuine and Delicious ……….💯💯💯
Authentic Kerala style food. We ordered a vegetarian thali, onion pakora and Uttapam. All the dishes in Thali were really good. There chutneys are tasty and uttapam was fluffy and paired well with chutneys. Amazing service and friendly staff

Kochin kitchen has the most amazing breakfast buffet. Unlimited food, fresh dosa served to you at your table and great service - what else could anybody ask for? I recommend going here for their buffet as well as a la carte.

The cravings to eat Malayalee food are always there when you’re living abroad. That’s exactly what happened when I was in Ottawa—I wanted to try a buffet, and this turned out to be a beautiful experience. We tried the buffet, and they had a great variety of dishes. Idly and dosa were made fresh and served hot on request, along with sambar and chutney. They also had biryani, kizhi potato, beef curry, and many other dishes. The desserts, including gulab jamun and payasam, were delicious too. The place is clean, and the customer service was excellent. It wasn’t too crowded, so there was space to sit, eat, and try everything comfortably. The only downside was finding parking. The buffet cost me $29, which I think is totally worth it. Definitely a must-try!

The AC doesn’t work there. It’s actually a sauna. Buffet is good. But it’s not worth it. Plus one serving curry is 20 CAD which is crazy. It’s not even a high end restaurant. You won’t get everything as expected. The quantity of the paneer curry I ordered is so less omg. Not recommended.
Don’t get fool by the positive reviews that was made on spot.
