I don’t even know where to start. Back in November 2024, we went to tour Umbrella Bar as a potential wedding venue. It was beautiful, but just a bit small for the number of guests we were planning. Kim then brought us down to see Lago… and we were immediately hooked. We went home that night and booked it for our September 2025 wedding. We didn’t tour a single other venue because Lago was that perfect. Right on the water, stunning views, and such an incredible space overall. The pricing was unbelievably reasonable too, which made our decision even easier.
A few months after booking, we went in for our tasting — and I still dream about that food to this day. Everything was so well prepared, so flavourful, so delicious. We also got to meet Gyneya (the owner) that day, and let me tell you… she is a ray of sunshine. Over the next several months, we emailed back and forth regularly, and she answered every question and concern with so much patience, kindness, and reassurance. I didn’t hire a wedding planner or day of coordinator, but she made me feel completely at ease. She promised everything would be perfect — and she delivered.
During our final meeting, we went through every single detail — from how I wanted the napkins folded to the exact second of the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to. I explained the décor vision I had for each table, and she brought it to life flawlessly. The morning of the wedding, they even sent me photos of the setup so I could see everything before arriving — which, as a Type A bride, I appreciated more than anything.
Gyneya and Kim hit the nail on the head with every single detail. They accommodated absolutely everything I hoped for. Throughout the night, guests kept telling us how beautiful the venue looked, and I owe that entirely to them.
And the food? Four months later, people are still talking about it. Our guests said the chicken was juicy, the steak was cooked perfectly, and everything tasted incredible. The staff working that day were also exceptional — professional, kind, attentive — and we are so grateful for them.
I wish I could re live that day over and over again. There is no doubt in my mind that if we had to choose a venue again, we would choose Lago every single time. It was perfect.

We had our September wedding at Lago in the Vista Room and received so many compliments on our location, the beautiful scenery over Dow’s Lake, and how the smaller room was the perfect size for our intimate wedding. But for me, all compliments go to Lago’s incredible wedding planning team. Gyneya and her team are so attentive; they were constantly on the ball on the day of our wedding, ensuring that all of our needs were met. The bride and groom spend so much time catering to guests, but the Lago team made absolute sure that we were truly pampered. During the day of the wedding, everything was so professional and organized. Their team thought of every detail and every wish of mine was flawlessly executed. The drinks and service at the bar was fast, the room change from the ceremony to the reception was seamless, the whole event ran perfectly on time, the food was incredible - the chef created a multiple course Vietnamese / Thai feast with sushi, pad thai, dumplings, multiple salads, vegan meatballs, fried rice and a delicious raspberry brownie dessert. They were also very accommodating to other dietary restrictions and allergies. Our guests have told us after how much they enjoyed the food and appreciated the service.

My Daughter got married there last night and it was perfect. The venue was just the right size for the event, we had the service first and while the family left for pictures, the staff set up for appetizers and dinner. Appetizers were a selection of deep fried cheese sticks and spring rolls etc. they were all done perfectly and sauces were delicious. Dinner did not disappoint either, there was a choice of salmon, strip loin steak or risotto. They again were perfect. Crème Brûlée was the finishing touch and was spot on. The staff and the facility was so polite and polished I couldn’t say enough about them. Gyneya coordinated a fabulous evening. As for the room itself, the lighting was beautiful and a perfect backdrop was a warm evening on Dow’s lake. I hope this doesn’t come across as AI because it was real and for our Daughter and Son-in-Law it was perfect. Thank you.

Even with two weddings taking place at the same time, the staff was attentive and welcoming—both to our team and to the guests. They went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed, providing a step ladder so we could get a group shot the couple requested, and bringing us food and water throughout the day. From the very beginning Gyneya and her staff were amazing. They are very detail oriented and do everything in their power to take all the stress off of you and onto them. Your wedding is their priority and they want your vision to come to life. Their pricing is very fair and transparent.
We were in the Vista room (upstairs) with around 80 guests and it was the perfect size. The dance floor was able to be open all night and no tables needed to be moved after dinner.
The food is phenomenal! Many of our guests made specific points to us on how great the food was. And as a bonus the portion sizes are large too!
I used to work for a catering company as a server for weddings and have been to many venues. I can say this is the best venue I've ever been to and cannot recommend it enough!
The cheesecake is also out of this world!! We had a handful of guests make the point to let us know it was the best cheesecake they ever had.
