This place is not great. Told me they do not have tobasco for the oysters and then when I complained about this on Libro reserve they tried to gaslight me saying I never asked for it instead of checking with the servers. They then proceeded to throw a tantrum saying I'm just upset because I didn't get "ketchup" for my oysters. They then proceeded to come at me with the angle of coming into the restaurant during a special on oysters talking about the money they lose and the price of running a seafood restaurant...

It was a celebration, so we ordered the seafood tower for two: a dozen varieties of top-quality, mostly raw sea creatures, all superbly prepared. Service was excellent, although a very noisy cocktail shaker close by repeatedly shattered the ambience. Dessert was a coconut cream meringue filled with berries, an excellent finale to the meal.

We had been for brunch, so were excited to try dinner, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. The service was excellent, as was the atmosphere, but the food was not up to our expectations. We started with the oysters, which were amazing. The brioche bun with the smoked salmon and creme fraiche was extremely dense and bread heavy - definitely not brioche texture, and way too much bread. Our server kindly took that off our bill. My husband ordered the lobster risotto - unfortunately it was so heavily seasoned with chili oil, he couldn't taste the butter, or the lobster and it left his mouth and throat burning. I had the duck, which was very good, with the potatoes and the vegetables. I guess we would just recommend letting the seafood speak for itself without a lot of extra ingredients or seasonings.

It is a tale of two restaurants. The front room is a cozy dark, great atmosphere, and the back room on high tops feels like you're dining in a lunchroom cafeteria. Exceptionally tight quarters, with a loud table beside us, couldn't hear a thing. Asked to move, I was told 30 minutes, asked multiple times, and never moved. More sad and disappointed than anything, restaurant staff couldn't have cared less about our evening.

Visited for the first time, and overall it was a very nice experience. I loved the pavlova desert the most. We ordered the sea bass (or sea bream), and it was lovely, although it can get a bit overcooked the longer it stays on the veggies underneath it. The starter that we took (brioche with some fish pate) was not to our liking, and I could taste the raw dough. The atmosphere was very welcoming, the server made me laugh on my Birthday :)

Lovely welcome, attentive service, the evening was promising. The cocktails and oysters were delicious but what a disappointment for the cassoulet which was so salty that it camouflaged all the other flavors. As if we had completely dropped the salt shaker. Extremely disappointed with this restaurant. The starter of roast shrimp was very fatty without balance or freshness. My girlfriend didn't finish it. As we say at home: it hit the heart. Extremely disappointed for a $200 evening for 2 people. We didn't finish our plates despite the dark portions. I don't recommend it at all. Unilingual English service.

We enjoyed our dinner at Le poisson bleu. Not too loud eating area. Tables nicely spaced out. Good service. The feature wine was very good. Good food in general. We had appetizers, both good. As main, lobster risotto and the tuna steak with home fries. Fries were yummy and crispy. Unfortunately, the tuna was over done (should always be rare).

First timer with high hopes given reviews. We just weren’t feeling it. Maybe it was just an off night for us and to be fair, we didn’t stay for a main course. So do give this place a try. Aesthetically, it’s a charming beautiful restaurant and the staff are very friendly. Wear a heavy sweater in the winter though because the front entrance isn’t well insulated. Wine recommendation fell a bit short and we really didn’t understand their special crudo dish with soft focaccia. Flavours were just ok. I am sure their main menu food is great as I have had the chef’s wonderful food before.

Had a dinner club night at Le Poisson Bleu and everyone was absolutely delighted with the food, drinks, atmosphere and service. Their lobster risotto never disappoints. Highly recommend!

EDIT: response from owner noted and I have changed the star rating to 5 to keep your ranking unblemished as our night was affected by circumstances beyond your control. Maybe we could have just spoken to the loud party ourselves to let them know they were disrupting everyone in the room. All the best.
In all fairness I will preface this by saying our experience was probably very unique to us and may not apply to every diner but I was asked by the establishment via email for a review so here goes. We were excited to finally try this restaurant after reading so many positive reviews and seen pics posted on Google. We booked well in advance to have the best choice of seating. Our party of 4 was unfortunately late by 40 mins due to a 6 car accident on the Queensway and thus seated in the back room facing the parking lot. Not a big deal, but we ended up sitting next to a very large party of 8 which was so loud and disruptive that it spoiled our evening of planned good food, wine and conversation. The server tried hard to move us to the main dining room and its superior ambience but had no luck so we soldiered on and finished the night as best we could and left. It was so raucous at some points we couldn’t even hear the server’s description of the food presented.
Overall the food was nice, the lobster risotto was a tad salty but the charcuterie plate, salad, duck and salmon were good. If we return in the future we will have to specify the main dining room or walk away. The server was excellent and we tipped her well for her efforts to rescue our night.

This is such a gem of a spot! Wine list is great, atmosphere is reminiscent of Joe Beef/Vin Papillon, and the food was excellent. The sea bream for two was perfectly cooked and the seacuterie really blew us away - so creative and delicious! The one thing that was unfortunate was, as others mentioned, the crostini provided was not proportionate to the amount of food on the plate, which was way more than expected (in a great way). We did ask for a few more pieces to finish the salmon pâté off, and waited a while, but our server never brought us any more nor explained to us why she couldn’t (this seems to be some kind of policy?) and kind of avoided us until we gave up and ate the rest of our pâté with a fork - we would have been happy to pay for a few extras. It was still good, just left a bit of a sour taste on an otherwise excellent meal and experience.
