Best cakes in the city!!! $40 - $45 for 8-12 pieces _ very pretty. Go to place for all special occasions..offer Mediterranean and other pastries.
Short staff .
I wanted to bring a tray of sweets at an Eid gathering and was recommended Le Roi by a friend. Not disappointed, everyone loved the baklava!
They sell frozen pastries and call them fresh. I told the owner that I had specifically asked for a fresh cake for a birthday party, and what I received was a frozen cake. It was embarrassing at the party. His response was, “I make 1,000 cakes, put them in the freezer, and sell them any time I want as fresh because they were in the freezer!”
Someone needs to explain that a fresh cake goes in the fridge, not the freezer.
More than the disappointing cake, it was the rude attitude and the shockingly low standards at this bakery that stood out. I won’t be returning.
Just happen to visit here in mid-April 2025. Bought some baklava, which is the best that I ever tasted.
Avoid this place, everyone works there have their own prices for sweets. I bought in the weekend one kilo of pistachio sweets and they told me $30/kilo and after two days went again to buy the same exact one and someone else helped me and priced it $40/kilo. Asked them about the price difference and the lady was very rude saying its been always $40/kilo. I used to get my sweets from this place alot. I will avoid from now on.
if possible i would given 0 star.. old guy very rude.
We called at store a girl pick our call and i asked about the cakes she said we have only 2 type and than we placed order and i said her clearly that i will come all way from krnata . And she said okay you can receive your order at 9:30pm .when we called again at store to receive our order a old guy pick our call and talk us rudely when we visit the store he said all finish go and we entered at store at sharp 9:30 pm and closing is 10pm this is very rude …it’s just like he want to close the store as soon as possible.. his way of talking is not acceptable..
I recently bought some petit fours and maamoul from Le Roi Bakery on Bank Street, and they were absolutely delightful! The freshness and flavor were outstanding, and you can tell they take great pride in their craft. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic, high-quality baked goods.

Very horrible customer service. The man that works there is obnoxiously rude. Why are you so angry all the time? First time I bought a dessert asked him to recommend me one and he was so annoyed of my question. Second time he was also super angry. Won’t come back. Sweet castle on bank and hunt club are very kind.

Same good
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I asked the lady if the slices of cake were nut-free and she guaranteed they were but I realized at home that one of them had peanuts. She was lucky I'm not allergic to peanuts as I have a severe life-threatening allergy to other nuts. DO NOT RECOMMEND !!!
Horrible service. Unprofessional and crooks!

I visited this hidden gem in Ottawa on the recommendation of several friends, and it was definitely worth it! The shop offers a great variety of cakes, Arabic sweets, and cookies. I highly recommend trying the Kunafa with Kaak—a delicious Kunafa sandwich in special sesame bread. The staff, especially the lady working there, was incredibly friendly and kind. Le Roi has quickly become my favorite pastry shop in Ottawa.
