2nd time returning customer. This place is a gem. Food is delightful and creative yet familiar, with a good variety of options for all tastes. Lovely presentations and generous portions. Excellent front of house service.
*of particular note was the asparagus and mint ice cream with lemon shortbread crumble. Fabulous. 10/10.
Awesome service, awesome food, awesome view...we had a fantástico evening

We had a wonderful experience at Le St. Laurent. The staff was friendly and helpful in regard to the food and wine offerings. The chef’s attention to detail in regard to dish preparation and presentation was extraordinary. The scallop appetizer was tender with a delicious sauce. As a main dish the duck and the beef shortrib were perfectly prepared and are highly recommended. This restaurant should be considered one of the best in Canada.
Dine at this restaurant for a memorable night out.

Fabulous Food, Elegant Environment, Superb Service, and this doesn't even take into account the marvelous view. I was at dinner with the family with Duck Confit, Braised Ribs and Sablefish ordered among us. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My fish was cooked perfectly, moist and flaky with a really nice cream sauce. The potato and bean sides were also perfect (and served hot). Service was attentive refilling the water constantly. The food took a little bit longer to be served than expected, and while I was wondering about it, our server must have read my mind indicating our order was would arrive soon. This delay was not an issue as the environment was so pleasurable and I would rather have perfect food rather than something rushed. A great evening and the Le. St. Laurent definitely deserves a strong recommendation.
Parking: There is plenty of parking across the street in the church lot which is clearly stated on the website, however some people have complained about lack of parking and gave lower ratings which is unwarranted if they had read the website. My 2 cents worth.

We came in without reservations, just after 8 pm on a Friday. The ambiance was nice. The parking should be better indicated, however.
The restaurant was more than half empty at the time and we asked for dinner for 2. To our great surprise were turned away because the kitchen was apparently closed. A dinner restaurant that opens at 17:00 and closes at 22:00 closes it kitchen at 20:00? No accommodation, nothing.
Worst service I've ever seen in Ottawa.

What a special restaurant. My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary here and we are so glad we did.
Besides the food being absolutely delicious, (crab croquette, short rib, and sable fish), we sat down to champagne and a warm celebratory greeting. We also were given a special dessert from the chef, who came out and wished us well.
We love visiting Ottawa. It is where we got engaged and have made so many wonderful memories. Our dinner at Le St. Laurent is now one of them and an experience we will repeat trip after trip.

We (2 couples) went for NYE, so expected it to be decorated for the occasion - there was nothing that I could see, even flower arrangements would have helped. The menu on their website advertised lamb confit which was not on the menu there - disappointing! Food was ok, the salad was difficult to eat because of the frizzé lettuce it was difficult to cut the branches so it should have been chopped up in the kitchen, the salad dressing was blah. Lobster bisque soup was angain ok. Another 1st course was butternut ravioli, there was 2 ravioli squares, a 3rd would have been nice. Husband enjoyed his beef short rib, I had lobster tail & scallops it was just ok. Dessert had a choice of 2 types of cakes, again ok, nothing wow. It appears like this restaurant is trying to be a high end restaurant but just not making the grades, location is beautiful, it does have possibilities. We will give it another try.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Le St Laurent! The service was impeccable, starting with the servers wishing us happy anniversary and bringing complimentary champagne. The dinner was fantastic, especially the duck! Such a hidden gem restaurant with beautiful views of the city.
