Clearly no quality check on mix ins - I understand it’s winter time and ice cream isn’t a popular choice but I went in tonight and first the girl put the ice cream directly in the cup and asked “if I want anything on top”, I asked for mix ins and she reluctantly scooped the ice cream back out of the cup and into the marble slab. I asked for cake pieces as a mix in and wondering why they weren’t being mixed with the ice cream while she was mixing it, but figured it was just a lazy mix job - nope they were cake CROUTONS. Completely rock hard cake pieces sitting in the ice cream. Definitely will never go back to this location.

The worst experience at Marble Slab. The vanilla frozen yogurt was overly sweet and had a grainy texture. With a chalky powder aftertaste, I do not think I will ever make a second trip.

It was my favourite place for an entire year. There's a new guy with a turban (I think he looks like the new owner) who has started showing up on night shifts, and he's so rude, giving a bad attitude to consumers, while we were so polite with him.

Been coming here for years but the quality of service has deteriorated like Ottawa’s tree line !! The person who served me last Friday had absolutely no idea what the slab is meant for , scooped up my ice cream and just dumped it in a waffle cone and broke it and continued to serve it, unapologetic , non communicative , no niceties and zero Canadian politeness. Keep up this bunch of employees and lose more customers.

I’ve been coming here for years, always has been my favourite ice cream place. I hate to say it but I was really disappointed this time. Half of the mix ins are not available. There is no cookie dough or gummy bears for example. Every other location I’ve been to has had the toppings and they are on the website. The employees were on their cellphones while we were here. I won’t be coming back to this location.

The flavour displays are apparently not accurate because I asked for vanilla and they told me they only had the vegan vanilla available. Even though in the slot that said vanilla there was a full tub- so who knows. I said sure, because vegan ice cream usually isn't bad these days- plenty of other places have amazing vegan flavours in this city. Anyhow, what they failed to tell me was that the vegan vanilla ice cream tasted like total garbage. I can't even think of anything to compare it to other than if they made soymilk into glue and added splenda into it. I should have told them as soon as I tasted it that I didn't want it. But they moved on to serve other customers as soon as they handed me the machine to pay- so I paid and as soon as I left the store I threw the ice cream out. 20$ wasted on ice cream that tasted like trash, so it ended up where it deserved to be.

The staff were friendly and very professional. However, the taste was disappointing far too sweet. I wouldn’t even call it ice cream it tasted more like a sugary dessert with a strange texture.
There is nothing special about this ice cream except overpriced and artificial flavors. Never again.

Edit to add after business’s response: I am not the employee who worked at this marble slab location, but it was a neighbour who worked here and was not paid for their hours. They informed the employer of their obligations under the Employment Standards Act, but still has yet to be paid. Avoid this place.

I had by far the worst ice cream ever at the Marble Slab Creamery. I ordered a single scoop of Lemon ice cream.......which was NOT lemon ice cream. At best it was a overly sweet vanilla ice cream with a very strong taste of sugar and maybe a whisper of lemon. But honestly. This is NOT an ice cream parlor. This is a confectionery shop that tries to sell very low grade tasteless ice milk. My husband tried the strawberry and chocolate combo and threw most of it in the garbage. Avoid at all cost.

We have been coming here for years but today was our last time. This place has gone completely down hill since it changed hands and if I could give it a zero I would.
For the second time they had no cones available, they no longer offer two flavours in a regular size (as clearly stated on the Marble Slab website and still refused when we showed this to them), the ice-creams were melted and the service was subpar.
