Great staff, amazing drinks and food tasted amazing. I recommend this to anyone in the city!
Best dinner experience we have had in a long time With the quality of the food and the professionalism of the service made a real difference
First time at Mati. The food was very good. Our server, Rome, did an amazing job for our party of 4. Glasses were always full and he was able to make special request happen. Definitely recommend.
We waited for our order for over an hour, that was too long, everything was great except for that
Redemption visit - fantastic oysters this time around, fresh & plump. Tartare, mati roll and cocktails hit all the points tonight. Glad I gave Mati another go solo. Will bring my friends back the next time after this visit
One of the best burgers in town. The Argentinian grill is truly fantastic. Steak is very expensive here. But otherwise a wonderful experience. Great bar. Amazing service. Would highly recommend for special occasions.
Good food. A bit too noisy. Service very good but very much too fast in the sense that we could have taken a little bit more our time to enjoy our drinks then appetizers and then meal... that Would have been an even better experience.
Great restaurant, food and service were amazing, a little noisy but would definitely recommend.
Great food as always. Service was a little slow and not highly attentive but it didn't take too much away from the overall experience.
Sat outside on their patio very nice. Thankfully was upgraded to a table for four even though we were just two. Had the seafood tower needed the extra space. Inside the restaurant is very noisy they could use additional sound proofing or furniture to minimize the sound of plates and cutlery. Otherwise, great experience

The food was literally amazing. The gnocchi was something you would consider not petting a kitten in order to try a bite. The place was packed and the staff acknowledged the wait times with appropriate compensation before we even realized the food was delayed. Music was a little loud for a Sunday evening, though. Made for elevated talking volumes.
We arrived at 5:45 to celebrate our son's engagement. We e ordered champagne and appetizers then placed the order for our main courses. The waiter kept coming by to apologize for the kitchen which was « backed up » and saying it would be 10 minutes, then 2 minutes. From the time we ordered the food to getting the food was 2 hours. They offered to take the cocktails off the bill (that's 3 cocktails or 3 ounces of liquor on a $800 bill). They eventually took off the champagne. The food was fine but not outstanding. Had we not been there to celebrate an engagement we would have left. Absolutely unacceptable to wait 2 hours for pasta (which we all know is precooked and sauced premade) and a steak and a grilled fish. We won't be back. Don't recommend.
Meh. Definitely not worth the cost. Loud music, hit and miss service. Food was adequate - definitely not worth the elevated prices. Little details are important and were missed. A meal should include vegetables not just a couple of potatoes rolling around on the plate and the shell should not be in the taco. Disappointed this was not remedied on the bill.
The food was amazing as well. Four of us shared a seafood tower . The service however was not up to previous standards we've become accustomed to that this establishment. We waited a very long time to place our order and were not checked on when all of our drinks were empty .
Mati is one of my favourite upscale restaurants to score a reservation! Inside or out on the patio, the restaurant is chic but cozy, the waitstaff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is DELICIOUS. The wait for your food and drinks are totally reasonable, but make sure you read the menu as I was appreciative of them noting which meals may take longer. I love their tuna tartare and spicy salmon roll, and my partner enjoys how moist and flavourful the truffle chicken is. The drink menu has been updated since I last visited so make sure to try out new combos! I aim to book here for romantic or celebratory dinners, but I could definitely see coming here to sit at the bar and enjoy some catching up with a friend. One of Ottawa's gems that I recommend to anyone!
