I asked the manager to wear gloves because of allergy reasons. Instead of just doing it, he looked at me and said “why?” And that even the sweet Lebanese employee that was taking my order says it’s allergies just wear the gloves. I then watched the manger make the food with no gloves and when I called him out and asked if he wore them, he straight up lied and said “yeah” even though I literally saw him not do it. That’s beyond rude and completely careless.
On top of that, the sweet Lebanese employee was super polite and asked if I wanted my food in the same bag or separate so I said same bag. After waiting over 10 minutes, the manager finally gives me the food — in separate bags. I didn’t say anything but the nice employee came over and fixed it, and said no they wanted the food in the same bag. When I turned my back to leave the manger starts laughing at me and mocking, saying “ahaha they wanted a big bag.” Like seriously? Your own staff offered me the big bag, so what’s the joke? There was nothing funny about it. It was just rude, petty, and unprofessional. I would honestly even call it racism because I was polite and nice throughout the entire interaction and didn’t do anything that could possibly make him act that was towards me.
This was the Asian male manger working Thursday, September 18 around 10:30 pm. Honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had.

Every time I stop by between 11 AM and 1 PM, the espresso machine is “being cleaned.” It’s hard to believe this is just coincidence, it feels like this location deliberately chooses peak hours to avoid serving espresso. Other McDonald’s manage to clean their machines at better times, so either the staff here are careless or just plain lazy. Extremely disappointing.

In drive through, I asked for a cup of water and the employee said no you have to buy something. I was ready to pay but he said no, you can only purchase a water bottle or food. He was forcing me a lot to purchase a water bottle which is wrong. This is the only location who asked to buy food in Oder to get water, otherwise all other locations in Ottawa are giving water. This is not my first time asking for it. Very disappointing !!!
I’ve visited the McDonald’s at 1880 Carling Ave, Ottawa, several times, and it has consistently been a great experience. Although this is one of the older McDonald’s locations in the area, it is very well maintained and kept clean. The dining area is neat and comfortable, making it suitable for both families and casual meetings.
One of the highlights of this location is the friendly and polite staff. Every time I visit, I’m welcomed with a smile, and the team is always courteous and professional, making sure customers are satisfied with their orders.
There’s plenty of free parking available, which makes it convenient for dine-in customers. They also have a 24/7 drive-thru, which is perfect for late-night cravings or quick meals on the go.
Another feature I appreciate here is the refillable drink fountain, allowing you to refill your beverages during your visit. The washrooms are also well-kept, clean, and properly maintained, which adds to the overall positive atmosphere.
The surrounding area is taken care of too, with the exterior kept clean and tidy. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick meal, meeting friends, or grabbing a bite with family, this McDonald’s location is definitely worth visiting. I’ll certainly be back again!
Ordered breakfast on the app, payment went through, all good. Pulled up to the window, and the cashier sent me to the second window. There, I got told my payment didn’t go through even though my bank account clearly thought otherwise. Paid again, then got a “let’s not argue” and a closed window 🤷♂️. Felt like I accidentally forced her to come to work that day! Luckily, the manager sorted it out and refunded me. Breakfast crisis averted but what a morning adventure! 😅

This spot still does it right!!! Always loved it out here perfectly located between hot spots on Carling great drive thru one of the all time best drive thru locations and hot fries and a burger with a crisp refreshing drink out on the Oasis That is Old Carling Ave @ Maitland!!!!! 😎👍

Hit or miss. The day crew is typically kinder than the night crew. This time around paid for a medium coffee but they only filled it part way. Why charge extra if you're going to give the same amount anyways lol
