I have to give this place zero stars, because it's closed. It's been closed permanently for over 4 months, but for some reason, Google Maps still has this set as open. This is despite countless photos showing the closed signs, the papered up windows, and now the 'For Lease' signs that people have been posting up for the past few months. I can't be the only one trying to update this place to indicate it's closed? (For the record, I submitted photos, with location tags) Are we going to need to physically drag a Google exec over here to finally get the status updated?

I was here last month and it was the worst McDonald’s I’ve ever visited. Slow and inattentive staff.

Location is closed (it was located next to Tim Hortons on the Rideau Centre side, not on the Byward Market side like the map marker) there is a sign in the window informing of other nearest locations. At the time of this review, the Bank Street one is open at least.

As we say our final goodbyes to the world's "worst" McDonald's, let us take a moment to remember the unique place it has held in our city's heart. While notorious for fights, violence, and raccoons, it was our very own gemstone that brought us together in laughter and conversation. In its quirky and chaotic way, this McDonald's has been a meeting point for us, where countless memories were created and shared. It has been a symbol of our city's resilience and sense of humor, as we have embraced its imperfections and celebrated its peculiar charm. As we bid farewell to this unlikely landmark, let us cherish the stories and laughter it has provided us over the years. And though the world may see it as the "worst" McDonald's, we know that it will forever hold a special place in the history and hearts of our community.Warm regards,Milad

I feel bad people are loosing jobs, but of course my Uber Eats order was wrong. You don't even know your own offers on there. Wrong order again.

Often playing jazz, and soon closing, is a unique McDonald's. Always gets your order right, kind, and quick considering the amount of people that come around come lunch. Only complaint is the areas inhabitants. But they can't control that.

I am absolutely outraged by the news that the Rideau McDonald's in Ottawa is closing down! This is not just any fast-food restaurant - it's a community hub where people from all walks of life can come together and feel at home. It's a place where I can order my usual Mc App order of a Happy Meal and an under-3 toy without any judgment, and the staff are always so accommodating and welcoming. Even the homeless individuals who gather there are some of the nicest and most interesting people I have ever met.For under 4 dollas, I can get a full meal, live entertainment, and a sense of community. I can easily say that I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for the sense of community I gained at this establishment. It's one of the only places in the city where I can be myself and feel accepted. Losing this location would be a devastating blow to the local community and the countless individuals who rely on it.I urge McDonald's to reconsider their decision and recognize the immense value that this location provides to the community. It's not just a matter of convenience or profitability - it's about the human connections and sense of belonging that it fosters. It's a place where people can come together, share a meal, and feel a sense of belonging. If they choose to ignore this, they will be turning their back on the very people who have made their success possible. This decision is simply unacceptable, and I implore McDonald's to reconsider before it's too late. The Rideau McDonald's is not just a fast-food restaurant - it's a beacon of hope and community in a world that often feels cold and unwelcoming. Don't let that light go out.

It was fine when I went. Nobody stayed, pretty much in and out. Heard they're closing because of frequent fights etc leading to police interventions.

The failure of this restaurant represents the failure of our ottawa police cracking down on crime in the market. This restaurant could of had some potential if the crime and honeless issue was under control.Because of the unhinged customers the staff have become unhinged as well. This location is no success story and is infamous for being one of the worst mcdonalds in the world.

We ordered 5 Big Macs on the way home from the work Christmas party. One of them had no meat in it all all. Like, no burger! When I challenged the server he denied the meat was missing even though I showed him the empty bun. Then he slapped a burger down on the counter, right on the top amongst other customers sauce dribblings! When my friend asked to use the bathroom she was told they had been locked. A fight broke out in the doorway and a man was removed by police. When my friend insisted they open the bathroom very politely another customer said why not go use the bathroom on the street as everyone else did!!! Never again.
