an experience. It's not very good, but it's okay, it deserves two stars.

Loved coming here for 20 years.
Never had an issue until tonight. Ordered a few entrees that were great but the general tao wasn’t good like it usually is. When we mentioned the general tap chicken wasn’t great tonight The manager quickly started yelling at us and telling us how no one all night complained and she won’t refund us. We never asked for a refund and were taken aback by the way she was speaking to us. She kept drilling into us refusing to end the conversation despite us not wanting to argue whatsoever about this. She tried to say we ate half of it, despite only have a piece each before realizing it was a miss tonight. Loved this restaurant but I can’t believe what happened tonight. No need for that kind of behaviour. Never experienced this before in my life. I hope it was just she was having a bad night but I will never be back again.

Been eating here for 20 years. Something changed real bad. Food was not good. Will not eat here again. Cost $200 and one order of spicy shrimp almost killed me because of the spice the second order had zero spice. Everything that made this place good is gone. Old owner must have died and their kids can’t cook.

Went back after 7 years and still disappointed. The food lacked flavour and was drenched in thick glutenous starchy sauce. This sauce is on practically everything unfortunately. Seafood was mostly overly breaded and deep fried sadly. We won’t come back.
7 years ago:!Overly salty food I had to send back to the kitchen due to their use of MSG on everything. Not a healthy place to eat. The server told us she never eats there because of the over use of salt and MSG. We will not be going back there.

I recently visited Mekong. We started with the pot stickers, which were absolutely delicious and a great beginning to the meal.
Unfortunately, the experience went downhill with the well recommended crispy beef… What arrived was essentially batter in sauce. I looked through several pieces and could not find a single scrap of beef. When we raised this with the staff, we were told the meat was “thinly sliced” but in my opinion, it was closer to non-existent.
Overall, a disappointing main dish that didn’t live up to the restaurant’s reputation.

So I ordered beef with pepper sauce there is more vegetables then beef so it a rip off it dont say veg eith pepper sauce the general Tao chicken. Has way more veg then meat so like you serve me food with more veg then meat even tho it s meat I ordered there is pepper in hesr that u can't chew and what the he'll did you do to eggs roll why are they flat we spent 150 on our order it is a total rip off dont waste your money not worth it very disappointing its a shame to use veg as 90% of all the meat dish you should be ashamed of rip off the customer that pay good money to just get plates of veg with lil meat u have peanuts in my general Tao chicken like really I had thousands time in other place never peanut in it yes the lil things in pic is peanuts in general Tao chicken the makong rice has 0 flavor like it really plain i really suggest you ordering from somewhere else this is a shame for what we got the sweet snd sour pork is breaded so it 90 % bread not meat this was our worse experience for food yet snd we eat out alot

Restaurantji Recommends
We ordered a rather expensive dinner an we are very disappointed 😞 the food was tasteless an our meat with veggies dishes were mostly vegetables rice was overcooked an the chicken was breaded too thick an the sweet and sour pork was too much breading as well the egg rolls were very greasy an flat almost nothing in them. I would not recommend this place nor will we order from there again.

Food was hot and fresh. Spring rolls were very good. Crispy salt and pepper pork was yummy. Noodles and soup dumplings were just average. Definitely would consider for lunch or dinner if you’re in the area.

I would love if google offered a 2.5 star feature because that would be right in the middle, exactly where Mekong belongs. I would describe it as very average. You know that it is a reliable Cantonese/Szechwan place where you’re probably going to get the same flavour every time. That being said the flavour is nothing to rave over. I found that it had too much msg, the soup dumplings tasted microwaved, the General Tao was not spicy and a little chewy and the crispy beef was very salty. The Pad Thai was actually pretty good. It seemed as though their specialty was a 3 course pecking duck, however, you needed to call 2 days prior to reserve it, it looked fantastic and I would have liked to have tried that, had I known. The waitress was very friendly. For a total bill of $120 I feel like there’s other better options in that price range.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. We always get the same order, 5 spice prawn, hunan dumplings, general tao and crispy beef. All are very delicious. The owner and staff are all very professional, and kind.
